Blake anonymously warns the station of the ship despite objections from Jenna that he is helping the enemy. On the planet, Avon blackmails Tynus, a former associate, to help Avon steal the crystal. Tynus arranges for a diversion that will allow Avon to slip past security, but it may be a ruse. Meanwhile, the base tows the derelict back to the planet whereupon Blake teleports down to warn them in person, but he is too late as the base unwittingly releases a swift-killing alien virus. Some casting news for series 10; that loveable actor David Suchet, famous for playing the Agatha Christie detective Hercule Poirot, will be joining the show as a character known as The Landlord. Sounds interesting.

Our guest at The Whoseum this week is Allan Lear, one of the eminences grises of the Doctor Who Appreciation Society. Allan brings along a stolen library hardback copy of The Deadly Assassin, a newspaper clipping of Mrs Lear with a Dalek and a collection of haemovore nail clippings.

Along the way, we encounter “the worst first draft of a Lewis Carroll novel ever”, we debate the ideal size of bathroom towelling (from face flannel to bathsheet) to be clutching when opening a hotel door to unexpectedly find Dominic Glynn on the threshold, we discuss the colour of the Second Doctor’s eyes, we hail the histrionic apotheosis of Nicholas Parsons and we eviscerate the Ontological Argument.

It brings me great delight to say that friend of the show (and podcaster in his own right), Hayden Gribble, has penned a book, which is coming out on the 16th of this month. Pretty much around the time you'll hear this episode.

That book is called Child Out Of Time, a memoir of sorts, about a Doctor Who fan growing up in the Wilderness years of the series.

With a cover by Doctor Who author Paul Magrs and a foreword by Andrew 'Full Circle' Smith, this really is a neat thing.

So, to do my part in letting everyone know the book's out - find it at Amazon, folks - I've gone back to the Doctor Who Show episode #2 (from February, 2016).

Why? Because I had Hayden on that episode. You see, Hayden's always fascinated me from the point of view that in Who fandom we have a bunch of people who watched the classic era and most of us have continued to enjoy Nu-Who. Or they're people who started with Nu-Who and some might have gone back to the classics, but I'd wager most haven't, even if they appreciate the history and gravitas it gives the new material.

But Hayden's different. He didn't see the Classic Era on its first run, but then became a fan in the wilderness years, thanks initially to the TV Movie, so was primed and ready to be a major fan when Nu Who started, just like a Classic era fan... but was still this young guy at the time with a different story to most.

That sort of thing's really interesting to me, so I wanted to chat with him on the show about being a younger who fan who likes the classic era, as a bit of a conversation piece.

Now, towards the end of the chat back in 2016, Hayden mentions some projects coming up and one of them was Child out of Time... so it seemed highly appropriate to dust off this tape, and give you a taste of Hayden and I chatting about his years growing up with the show which he's now expanded upon - in quite a major way - in Child out of Time.

As Danica and Brandon bid a fond farewell to their season long guest, they all endure and episode where there is a lot of blood, and the world has two buttholes. And if you control the buttholes, you control the world, but only if you have special blood? Torchwood is wild, y'all. And there wasn't even a lizard people conspiracy!

As Danica and Brandon bid a fond farewell to their season long guest, they all endure and episode where there is a lot of blood, and the world has two buttholes. And if you control the buttholes, you control the world, but only if you have special blood? Torchwood is wild, y’all. And there wasn't even a lizard people conspiracy!

Who wants to party like is 1983? Pete and Tim get all excited and lie about the 20th anniversary episode The Five Doctors.

In Episode 32: Stand There And Look Pretty, super nerd Jimmy LeDuc and comic book artist Christopher Jones join the guys for a special podcast recorded at Console Room, the Twin Cities Doctor Who convention! Listen as the boys choose which companions they would take on their own travels through space and time, slog their way through the six-part Big Finish audio adaptation of the unmade Second Doctor adventure Lords of The Red Planet, figure out what really made the Doctor and Susan leave Gallifrey, and discover the deadly power of nail polish remover in the 1967 Second Doctor adventure The Moonbase.

It brings me great delight to say that friend of the show (and podcaster in his own right), Hayden Gribble, has penned a book, which is coming out on the 16th of this month. Pretty much around the time you'll hear this episode.

That book is called Child Out Of Time, a memoir of sorts, about a Doctor Who fan growing up in the Wilderness years of the series.

With a cover by Doctor Who author Paul Magrs and a foreword by Andrew 'Full Circle' Smith, this really is a neat thing.

So, to do my part in letting everyone know the book's out - find it at Amazon, folks - I've gone back to the Doctor Who Show episode #2 (from February, 2016).

Why? Because I had Hayden on that episode. You see, Hayden's always fascinated me from the point of view that in Who fandom we have a bunch of people who watched the classic era and most of us have continued to enjoy Nu-Who. Or they're people who started with Nu-Who and some might have gone back to the classics, but I'd wager most haven't, even if they appreciate the history and gravitas it gives the new material.

But Hayden's different. He didn't see the Classic Era on its first run, but then became a fan in the wilderness years, thanks initially to the TV Movie, so was primed and ready to be a major fan when Nu Who started, just like a Classic era fan... but was still this young guy at the time with a different story to most.

That sort of thing's really interesting to me, so I wanted to chat with him on the show about being a younger who fan who likes the classic era, as a bit of a conversation piece.

Now, towards the end of the chat back in 2016, Hayden mentions some projects coming up and one of them was Child out of Time... so it seemed highly appropriate to dust off this tape, and give you a taste of Hayden and I chatting about his years growing up with the show which he's now expanded upon - in quite a major way - in Child out of Time.

In which we tell you all our thoughts on god.

On this week's show, Danica and Brandon are floating like leaves in the wind and rolling their eyes at a whole lot of things. Our hearts are cold and dead! Our livers are swimming! It's a whole thing. Anyway, we watch "The Rings of Akhaten" which is hard to spell, and is full of tree hands and shenanigans. And is also fun. But you know, whatever.
