Classic Rewatch: The Silurians
Gallifrey Public Radio - A Doctor Who PodcastAs an evolved, scientifically curious species, we Terrans are woefully ignorant on a relative interplanetary scale. Honestly, it’s a wonder our brutish, barbarian tendencies haven’t caused us to be eradicated by a greater galactic power a dozen times over by now. We find another sentient species dormant beneath our planet’s surface, and immediately fall into two camps: cringing subservience; or distrusting militant response. Leave it to a dashing (if oddly dressed) hyper-brilliant alien to point out the need for a […]

MUTTER'S SPIRAL Podcast 118 - SHERLOCK: "The Lying Detective"
Mutter's Spiral PodcastSHERLOCK Series 4 continues with "The Lying Detective", and there's SO MUCH for us to discuss!
How are Sherlock and John after the events of last episode? Where do we go from here? HOW CREEPY is Culverton Smith? Has Sherlock finally lost control of, well, everything? Can John find his way back to some semblance of normalcy?
The answer to these questions as well as ALL of the other goings on (no spoilers here, just in case), will be talked about in full on this week's podcast (I took 8 pages of notes!)! Here's a heaping helping of SHERLOCK DISCUSSION as we head towards the close of Series 4 (and the series for the near future?)! Please listen!

TDP 639: Space Helmet For A Cow
Tin Dog PodcastSpace Helmet for a Cow Volume 2 - 1999 to 2013 IN A NUTSHELL A wry and honest look at the real life madness that surrounded the making of the greatest television show in the world. REVIEW Anyone who bought Volume One of Space Helmet for a Cow will be buying Volume Two, this might seem like a broad statement but even after a cursory glance at Volume Two, it's clear that this celebration of the history of "New Who" (1999 onwards) is something worth shelling out those hard earned Grotzit for. This new volume covers a considerably shorter period than the first but still manages to cram its hefty page count with the same high standard of witt and critical commentary that went into the first. It is an extremely joyous trip down memory lane for those of us who experienced the resurgence of the new series from the ashes of old. Every page oozes with the sort of acerbic prose that many reviewers dream of, while taking care not to crossing the line into purely negative territory. Not only is it hilarious but it is deeply comprehensive and will act as a gentle reminder for all of those weird and outlandish moments that abound around Doctor Who production and the universe that we are part of. The book answers many questions that we simply didn't know we were asking. Such as "Did Benny and Bjorn from ABBA really plan a Torchwood musical called Weevil Rock You?" or "Which Doctors shared a bed?" and the slightly more believable "How did David Tennant become his own Father in law?" It is clear that this was a labour of love, it lets us see Doctor Who as it really is - a TV programme that is as haphazard in nature as any other in modern television and it is celebrated here in all of its glory. I would recommend that you don't get this for Christmas because your family will lose you for the entire day and become annoyed at your constant chuckling. INSERT ITEM INFO. End of review

Doctor Who - The High Council Episode 84, Kinda Part 4
Doctor Who - The High CouncilWhat a Bigly episode we have for you today! Kinda Part 4! We all agree that Janet Fielding took Part 3 off and was a means to an end. But Kyle looks into the box and loses his mind and drops apples on our heads. So enjoy the podcast while Erik explains all of the excesses of the colonizers and how Deva Loka must be the center of the universe. Aris has voice and so do we dammit. As we play around with current politics a bit, and wonder if we can mend people, we enjoy the craziness of Hindle and actually do a fair amount of laughing that you wouldn't expect in this story.

The Sixth Doctor Retrospective
Trust Your DoctorIt feels like we just started this era yesterday.
The end of an era, truly. The Sixth Doctor was here for nearly 10 seasons. Wait, you’re telling me that in this universe he only had two seasons? How did you guys cope? So you didn’t get The March of the Valeyard? Devastation of the Daleks? The Damnation? I can’t believe it, this really is the darkest timeline. Well, here’s the Sixth Doctor retrospective anyway, featuring an additional discussion of Spiral Scratch. Spiral Scratch was written by Gary Russell and released on the 4th of August, 2005.
Show-notes:
17:20 “Other voice actors: Colin Baker”
21:08 Dirk Gently’s Holistic Detective Agency is a book by Douglas Adams. It’s kind of inspired by the Doctor Who serials he wrote, but I thought it was boring and also terrible.
31:08 It’s The Langoliers, which is from a larger collection by Stephen King.
48:24 Bamboo. Bamboo. Bamboo. Bamboo. Bamboo. Bamboo. Bamboo. Bamboo. Bamboo. Bamboo. Bamboo. Bamboo. Bamboo. Bamboo. Bamboo. Bamboo. Bamboo. Bamboo. Bamboo. Bamboo. Bamboo. Bamboo. Bamboo. Bamboo.

Men Manning and Being Men at Each Other
Flight Through Entirety: A Doctor Who PodcastTo celebrate 2017’s impending dumpster fire, all four members of the Flight Through Entirety crew take an ill-advised trip to the blowholes of Androzani Minor. Things don’t go well. For anyone.
Spoiler warnings
Spoiler warning for Rogue One about 5 minutes into this episode. Spoiler warning for Passengers: it makes Robert Holmes look like a militant feminist.

Christopher Gable, who plays the once-comely Sharaz Jek, starred in The Boy Friend (1971), along with Twiggy, and Doctor Who’s very own King Priam, Max Adrian. Here’s some terrifying footage of Gable and Twiggy singing You Are My Lucky Star and A Room in Bloomsbury.
Graeme Harper claims that he wanted Alan Lake and Diana Dors to play Morgus and Timmin: you can learn more about their crazy swinging antics in our Underworld episode — Episode 54: Sophisticated Psychological Realism.
Much like the President of Androzani Major, LA Law’s Rosalind Shays fell to her death down an empty lift shaft. You can hear Diana Muldaur discussing her character’s demise in this interview.
Fans of evil authority figures monologuing directly to camera will enjoy this clip of Ian Richardson doing exactly that in his role as Francis Urquhart in the original British House of Cards, directed by Doctor Who’s very own Graff Vynda-K.
Fans of bearded Doctor Who villains in other roles will enjoy Scorby as Captain Peacock in the new 2016 episode of Are You Being Served?, as well as Stotz as a sympathetic Romulan commander in the Star Trek: The Next Generation episode The Chase, which, despite starring Linda Thorson as a Romulan, was not as good as the Doctor Who story of the same name.
It seems that Time Out did not enjoy Matthew Waterhouse’s definitive Hamlet, according to this excerpt from their review.

Doctor Who in 10 Seconds
In this critically-acclaimed YouTube series, FTE’s very own Brendan Jones deftly summarises the first seven seasons of Doctor Who, spending no more than ten seconds on each story. To see this feat unfolding in real time, check out the playlist on YouTube!
Bondfinger
The Bondfinger team are yet to get together for our farewell Rodgecast, a commentary on 1985’s A View to a Kill. With a bit of luck, we should be releasing it next weekend.
In the meantime, you can enjoy our other Rodgecasts, from For Your Eyes Only to Live and Let Die. Other Bonds are also available, of course. You can keep up with all the Bondfinger news on Twitter and Facebook.

Spoiler warnings
Spoiler warning for Rogue One about 5 minutes into this episode. Spoiler warning for Passengers: it makes Robert Holmes look like a militant feminist.
