Daleks Are ForeverFlight Through Entirety: A Doctor Who PodcastFlight Through Entirety roars back into the feed with one of its best episodes ever, in which we go back to the very beginning of the history of the show and subtly reference tons of things we’ve done before. Except for Shirley Bassey as Davros. We’ve never done that, I think. It’s Remembrance of the Daleks, of course. A web of mayhem and intrigueOnce again, it’s time for you to vote for another story for our next commentary podcast — a Colin Baker commentary, which is currently scheduled for release in a few months’ time. The voting for our Colin Baker commentary podcast has now closed. In this poll, our listeners were given the choice between The Mark of the Rani, Revelation of the Daleks, The Mysterious Planet and Terror of the Vervoids. The winner, with 45% of the vote, was Richard’s choice Revelation of the Daleks. Buy the story! Are you sitting comfortably? After its original DVD release in 2001/2002, Remembrance of the Daleks: Special Edition was released in the UK and Australia as part of The Davros Collection in 2007 (Amazon UK). It was later released on its own in 2009 in the UK (Amazon UK), and in 2010 in the US (Amazon US). Notes and linksJodie Whittaker is the Doctor! And here’s what Brian Blessed said when he first met the Dalai Lama. The last time Moffat oversaw the Twelfth Doctor’s regeneration into a woman was in his very first Doctor Who story, The Curse of Fatal Death. Ben Aaronovitch is now a well-regarded author, famous for his six-book Rivers of London series, which deals with a young policemen who works in a divison of the Metropolitan Police that deals with the supernatural. The first novel was inexplicably called Midnight Riot in the US. The novelisation of Remembrance of the Daleks is excellent, and is actually available on Amazon. (Amazon US) (Amazon UK) (Amazon AU) Counter-Measures is a series of Big Finish audios featuring Rachel Jensen, Allison Williams and Group Captain Ian “Chunky” Gillmore battling various alienesque threats in 1960s London. The Profumo affair refers to a scandal in which the Secretary of State, John Profumo was forced to resign as a result of his 1961 affair with Christine Keeler, who may have been in a relationship with Yevgey Ivanov, a Soviet naval attaché; it contributed to the resignation of Prime Minister Harold Macmillan in October 1963, just weeks before the first episode of Doctor Who aired. It was dramatised in the film, Scandal (1989), starring our very own Ian McKellen and John Hurt. Scottish comedian Susan Calman, from Radio 4’s The News Quiz talks about how she plans to dress when she’s cast as Doctor Who. Doctor Who’s first script editor David “Jodie” Whitaker was involved in the production of three Dalek Annuals featuring original stories and articles: The Dalek Book (1964), The Dalek World (1965) and The Dalek Outer Space Book (1966). David Banks wrote a coffee-table book called Cybermen, which explains everything you never wanted to know about why the Cybermen changed their costumes all the time. Fans of Australian podcast episodes about Remembrance of the Daleks will enjoy the latest episode of New to Who, a podcast in which Colin, Daniel and Steven discuss Doctor Who stories you might actually want to watch. TDP 688: Torchwwood 17 - The Office The Never Was from @BigFinishTin Dog PodcastSynopsis This title was released in July 2017. It will be exclusively available to buy from the BF website until September 30th 2017, and on general sale after this date. "Ianto really shines in this story and Gareth David-Lloyd gets to play him with a range I think was only started in the TV show. 10/10" Indie Mac User "'The Office of Never Was' is a welcome return of Ianto Jones to the Big Finish world. Gareth David-Lloyd has turned in an excellent performance of a challenging script. Goss has taken a daring move with the character and crafted the perfect environment for it. This is an essential Torchwood story for your collection. - 9/10 " Blogtor Who "This story goes right to the heart of what Torchwood are and what they do, it deals with the consequences of those actions almost like no other story before it and lays Ianto's soul bare - Ianto always was the softer side of Torchwood, this explores how he deals with the contradictions in his job and how those contradictions can devastate the lives of those who Torchwood sometimes only think of as all in a days work." Planet Mondas "For me, Ianto was always the unsung hero of Torchwood Cardiff. From his humble beginnings serving tea to Jack and the gang, to being a badass, to being murdered in Children of Earth, Ianto was always dependably brilliant; and James Goss makes sure you know it in this story." Gallifrey Archive There's an empty office block in Cardiff. That's nothing special - plenty of businesses go under, clear out, cease to exist. All that's left behind is an empty building. But there's one office block that refuses to be forgotten about. There have been stories about that building - strange lights, funny goings on, faces pressed up against the glass. Enough to get the locals worried. Enough to ask Torchwood to get involved. It's Friday night. Ianto Jones has better things to do with his time than look round a haunted building. But he goes anyway, and it turns out that The Office has been waiting for him. Torchwood contains adult material and may not be suitable for younger listeners. Written By: James Goss Directed By: Scott Handcock Cast Gareth David-Lloyd (Ianto Jones), Bethan Rose Young (Girl), David Shields(Oliver) Producer James Goss Script Editor Steve Tribe

TDP 703: Doctor Who Book - The Shining ManTin Dog Podcast@TinDogPodcast talks about "Being scared is the least of your worries." The Shining Men are everywhere. You spot them out of the corner of your eye. Abnormally tall, with long lank hair, blank faces and blazing eyes. If they catch you, they'll drag you away to who knows where. No one is safe. They're on every street corner. Waiting. Watching. Shining bright. Of course it's a hoax. It has to be, right? It started as a joke, a prank for Halloween. Then it went viral. Idiots dressing up as monsters. Giving folk a scare. Silly masks and fright wigs. No one gets hurt. Because bogeymen aren't real. Until people start going missing and lights burn in the darkness. Burning like eyes. But help is on its way, in the form of a strange man called the Doctor and his friend, Bill. The Doctor will keep us safe. The Doctor will stop the monsters. Unless the monsters stop the Doctor first... An original novel featuring the Twelfth Doctor and Bill as played by Peter Capaldi and Pearl Mackie. Episode 63: Discussing and Debating Digital and Traditional Paper Comic BooksDiscussing WhoDigital comic books. Traditional paper comics. Or, maybe both? We discuss and debate the pros and cons of going all digital against buying from a local comic store. Would someone use a single service, like Comixology, to purchase books, go to individual sites like Marvel.com, Titan-comics.com, DCComics.com, etc., or visit their local comic shop? Do you lose that one-on-one relationship when buying digital only? We also talk about the ending of Astonishing X-Men #1. Hosted by Clarence Brown and Kyle Jones.
