LINDA for Short
Flight Through Entirety: A Doctor Who PodcastSo we’d all meet up, every week, and we’d talk about the Doctor for a bit. But after a while, Bridget started cooking. Next thing you know, Mister Skinner started his readings, because he was writing his own novel. As time went on, we got to know each other better and better. Then it turned out that Bridget could play the piano, and I confessed my love of ELO. Next thing you know —
In this week’s Doctor Who–lite episode of Flight Through Entirety, Nathan, Brendan and Max reminisce about our own experiences as members of LINDA, before tackling one of Doctor Who’s stranger, darker and madder episodes: Love & Monsters.
Notes and links
Watch Peter Capaldi writhe in embarrassment as Graham Norton confronts him with the evidence of his horrifically geeky past. Sigh. We don’t deserve him.
Capaldi also sends some fan art to Doctor Who comic artist Rachael Stott, who takes to Twitter to squee to the heavens, as well she might.
Nathan mentions his favourite Doctor Who commentary, in which RTD, Steven Moffat and David Tennant geek out about Silence in the Library. I’m sure you’ll be able to find it lying around somewhere.
David Tennant takes a week off gurning to create one of the best episodes ever of Doctor Who Confidential — Do you remember the first time? — in which he interviews members of the cast and crew about their earliest experiences of Doctor Who. You can probably find a cut-down version of this on the Series 3 box set: it originally aired alongside fan favourite Blink.
As a child, Brendan read and re-read Cornell, Day and Topping’s Discontinuity Guide, which now forms part of the old BBC Cult Doctor Who website.
As a child, Max read and re-read Russell T Davies’s The Writer’s Tale, which inspired him to study screenwriting at university.
Way back in 2006, Brendan created two videos to play at the Doctor Who Club of Australia’s fan events celebrating Series 2. You can find them here and here. You can subscribe to Brendan’s YouTube channel here.
Star Trek: The Next Generation was a bit less generous and affectionate in its depiction of fans. Exhibit A: the Pakleds, and Exhibit B: Reg Barclay (who everyone secretly loves).

302: The Seven Sins of Torchwood (Day One)
Trust Your DoctorAnd the secret 0th sin: existence.
The name of this story evokes strong memories of… something. Another story or tv show or movie and I just can’t really place what it is. I seriously feel like I watched something called Day One once upon a time and I genuinely cannot remember what the heck it was. That’s so weird. It’s Day One, written by Chris Chibnall and aired on October 29, 2006.
Show-notes:4:27: You’re welcome for this masterpiece of movie musical history. My personal favourite part is 1:19, when a dancer launches a bowling ball sideways accidentally and the shot immediately cuts, presumably to avoid showing the carnage that caused.
8:40: Every time.
16:14: If you want to listen us talk about classic sci-fi shows like Sapphire & Steel or The Prisoner, check out our classic sci-fi podcast, Inevitable: A Classic Sci-Fi Podcast.
27:01: FBI, OPEN UP
43:16: Yes, there really is a page for masturbation on the tardis wiki.
56:50: Here’s the trailer for Vampire Diary. Y’know, I kind of miss the edginess of the mid 00s.
58:00: Yeah, I was completely wrong here. Twilight was never a Harry Potter fanfic. Dylan was right. It was 50 Shades that started as a Twilight fanfic.

Terminus Podcast -- Mini Episode 7 – Baby Queers on Gallifrey: My Queer AF Doctor Who Fan Origin Story for Pride Month [With Bon
Terminus: A Doctor Who PodcastOn this episode, after a little unexpected pandemic hiatus, I'm finally back again!
And this time it's with a bonus episode featuring something that's a bit off the beaten path for my usual fare: a personal story-time episode of sorts!
So, please join me as I fully recount the detailed story about how I got into Doctor Who in the first place -- way back in the dark ages of the 80s as a young geeky teenager!
Given that my story has a lot of baby-queer-feels running throughout, I just thought that Pride month would be a great time to finally take the time to get the whole story recorded on my podcast – even though as I'm publishing this, admittedly I'm a few days late after Pride Month ended, all due to some technical issues. Oops! #mercuryretrogradewoes
Anyway, grab some popcorn or other snacks and roll up for a big ol' nostalgia trip!
Oh, and also please be sure to also stick around for the other stuff on the episode too! There's some administrative chat about the State of the Podcast (and your podcaster) at the beginning before the story, as well as some admittedly pretty disappointed feels about Series 12 afterward (which I kept thankfully short – as to not be too much of a squee-killer). There's also even a little un-cut audio squeeful mini-review bonus (that I did for the 'Discussing Who' podcast) for you to enjoy for some further funsies! All leaving a pretty interesting sandwich of content!
And yeah, it's admittedly bit of an emotional roller coaster at times, with the highs of squees and the lows of discontent to navigate, but hopefully you'll all still enjoy it nonetheless!
Strap in, it might be a bumpy ride!
P.S. Also, there's a poll! I love a poll!

Next thing you know —
In this week’s Doctor Who–lite episode of Flight Through Entirety, Nathan, Brendan and Max Jelbart reminisce about our own experiences as members of LINDA, before tackling one of Doctor Who’s stranger, darker and madder episodes: Love & Monsters.

090: Barmaids & Blizzards
Neither The Time Nor The SpaceThis week Matt and David discuss the 2012 Christmas Special "The Snowmen". Along the way they talk about listener interactions, debate the merit, or lack thereof, of "Withnail and I", and Matt has his proudest moment on the podcast to date. David, conversely, has his most embarrassing moment. Unsurprisingly, the two are related.

TDP 841: Torchwood - The Green Life from @BigFinish
Tin Dog Podcast@TinDogPodcast reviews his title was released in April 2019. It will be exclusively available to buy from the Big Finish website until June 30th 2019, and on general sale after this date. Torchwood vs Monsters! Many years ago Jo Grant met Professor Clifford Jones, fell in love and saved the world. It all happened in the idyllic Welsh community of Llanfairfach. Josephine Jones has come back to Llanfairfach and she finds it a bustling place with a thriving economy. The little town is now at the spearhead of a healthy-eating revolution. And yet, something’s missing. It feels like the heart has gone out of the place. She falls in with a dashing stranger and realises that although the past was a lot simpler, not everything’s changed. There’s still something nasty in the mine, and it’s been waiting for Jo for a very long time.
