Hello and welcome to January 2024 and the first epiosde of twelve waffling on about 1985. Yes this was the year that Meds and Kell met and wow, what a year for films. We start of with a Chevy Chase film, we loved it as kids but do we love it now??? only one way to find out and thats to listen. 

We are very proud that our podcast is fifteen years old this month and we thank you all for staying with us and listening. If you are new, welcome to the show.

This year is going to be a cracker and we will be joined by some regular guest hosts, get rerady for a cool 1985 ride. 

Jim Sangster rejoins me this week -- this time in the interviewer's seat -- as we continue our deep dive into The Gunfighters. Why was a particular 1983 Doctor Who hardcover reference book so hard on the story? Did the story effectively kill the historical genre in '60s Who? Was this the lowest-rated story of all time? Is the inclusion of the ballad a betrayal of the Western genre?

Jim and I both love this story to bits. Which is why we spent two weeks on it and not just one.
