Why, by celebrating the arrival of the Number of the Beast, Episode 666, with a commentary for the Series 2 episodes "The Impossible Planet" and "The Satan Pit", two of the most devil-centric episodes ever! Episode 230: Yippie and Company
Trust Your DoctorBring back yippie honestly. Best Character 2k11.
The biggest disappointment in this episode is that the song “Closing Time” is nowhere to be seen anywhere in this story. It’d be perfect, you know? It’d be that exact thing that Kiyan hates, kind of like that time they used “Iron Man” in the movie, Iron Man. It’s Closing Time, written by Gareth Roberts and aired on September 24, 2011.
Show-notes:
8:56 Three Men and A Baby is a 1987 movie directed by Leonard Nimoy of all people. I couldn’t find any info on whether Two and Half Men was named after or influenced by this movie.
9:32 We listened to the Spare Parts audio last year with Krynoid Podcast. It’s supposed to be the Cyberman origin story.
13:50 Both IMDB and Colin Baker’s official site(?) say that he was in Shakespeare plays.
17:50 Check out our coverage of the first 3 Rocky movies.
19:04 Alf is an anteater puppet who pretends to be an alien puppet on a televised puppet show called Alf.
31:15 Yes, lingerie refers only to women’s undergarments.
36:01 Lytton appeared in Resurrection of the Daleks and Attack of the Cybermen.

Commentary Takes All
Flight Through Entirety: A Doctor Who PodcastThis week, we take a break from our break between series of New Who to deliver our long-awaited commentary on a popular story from the Davison Era. Friend of the podcast Colin Neal joins all of us as we leave our howling void and race around the planet Venus in the hope of achieving Enlightenment.
Buy the story!
Enlightenment was released on DVD in 1992/1993. In the US, it was released on its own, I think, but it’s completely unavailable on Amazon. Still, you can just buy it as part of the Black Guardian Trilogy box set (Amazon US), which is how it was released in the UK and Australia (Amazon UK).
Notes and links
You can find a much shorter and more focussed discussion of this episode in our regular Enlightenment episode — Episode 88: The Other Baron, recorded in July 2016. You can find all our other commentaries on our commentaries page, obviously.
Follow us!
Nathan is on Twitter as @nathanbottomley, James is @ohjamessellwood, Brendan is @brandybongos, Todd is @toddbeilby, Richard is @RichardLStone and Special Guest Star Colin Neal is @colin_neal. The Flight Through Entirety theme was arranged by Cameron Lam. You can follow the podcast on Twitter at @FTEpodcast.
We’re also on Facebook, and you can check out our website at flightthroughentirety.com. Please consider rating or reviewing us on iTunes, or we’ll reach into your mind and redecorate your bedroom with everything that we find lurking around in there.
Jodie into Terror
While we’ve been on our break, Doctor Who has finished its latest season, which means that there are now ten episodes of our flashcast Jodie into Terror, where we think deeply about each new episode for a couple of hours before inflicting our ill-considered opinions on a largely indifferent world. You can find Jodie into Terror at jodieintoterror.com, @JodieIntoTerror on Twitter, and on Apple Podcasts.
Bondfinger
Over on Bondfinger, we have commentary podcasts on every single James Bond film, including a very short and incoherent one that literally no one can understand.
You can find Bondfinger at bondfinger.com, and on Twitter at @bondfingercast.

Metebelis 2 #99 - Fryktelig Far
Doctor Who: The Metebelis 2This week, Ben and David discuss "It Takes You Away" and try to reconcile Hanne's abusive home with story of the Solitract universe. What was the point of the antizone? Could this have been better told with out Norway? Is the show afraid of having a sexual woman Doctor? And is it a good idea to take 2019 off from producing new stories? The lads seem to struggle with the episode and the state of show nearing the end of 2018. All this plus Ben shares news that he finally has completed his classic Who DVD collection and throws the podcast open to doing requests, much to David's surprise. Opening music is from Hanne's favorite band, Arctic Monkeys' hit "Why'd You Only Call Me When You're High" and closing music is a deep cut from the Blue Oyster Cult, "Take Me Away" for hopefully obvious reasons.

112: Invasion of the Dinosaurs
The Krynoid Podcast"There's your monster maker... Caught in the act."
And lo... Barry Letts did advance upon him, spitting tacks and brandishing a rubber T-Rex, with insertion on his mind.
Yes, this is yer actual Invasion of the Dinosaurs - a tale of double talk, double-crosses and double denim.
The Doctor drives stuff, Sarah discovers stuff and Yates says "Stuff you!" to his UNIT family (and to everyone outside the central London elite bubble).
Have the cast been selectively aged and rejuvenated by Whitaker's time experiments?
Is the science as shaky as the Whitehall walls? And is it worth gambling your house on?
Will Lis Sladen ever get the underwear she doesn't need?
And where will Jim and Martin place the story on a scale of Jurassic Park to The Goodies?
To find out the answers to some or none of these questions, listen here.

I Don't Think So, Tim
Doctor WhoochIn which we bid a fond farewell to the fam.
On this week's show, Danica and Brandon watched "The Battle of Ranskoor Av Kolos" and they have some thoughts! Mostly about character development through the season, but partly on the show's continuing efforts to confront ideas that are really tearing down society. Like organized religion! Yayyy!

And so you're back from outer space
Who's He?This is it folks, the finale of Jodie Whittaker's inaugural season of Doctor Who, The Battle of Ranskoor Av Kolos. This is also the return of Chris Chibnall on writing duties and also his first season finale as show runner, so how does he hold up? Is the usual universe threatening extravaganza we're all come to expect or this is a quieter affair? Well, Phil and Paul provide their thoughts on this story and also how they found the series overall.
Also included this week is a special feature in which Phil reviews The Doctors: Villains! DVD.
And in the news, there will be no series in 2019, the Macra Terror has go the animated treatment, pointless awards news and of course Omega's Stats Corner.
We would like to wish all of our listeners a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!
