The Others Episode 7 The Five Doctors Part One
The Others PodcastThe Five Doctors-Part One! To lose is to win and he who wins shall drink! For no apparent reason The Others have decided to look at one of their favourite stories, The Five Doctors. As they discuss in this first part covering Part One & Part Two, this story really hit a sweet spot with them. It has influenced the technology they buy and seems to be a story that has been watched multiple times. This is probably a statement that applies to many fans of Doctor Who!
They discuss when this story was shown on PBS and how it was made available to multiple markets in the US on the anniversary date of November 23rd, 1983. It is an interesting discussion spanning various discussions about viewing habits, beta tapes, bowling and Totinos pizza. There is also discussion about what an older Doctor is like when they come back to a series that is no longer their show. What part of their character is resurrected in an anniversary adventure like this? It's lovely and fun discussion that is not to be missed. Although not strictly a commentary, The Five Doctors is played in the background while the discussion is going on. The episodic version of The Five Doctors was used for this recording. We are The Others.

TDP 384: The Crooked Man - 4th Doctor Big Finish 3.3
Tin Dog PodcastFrom the big finish site Winter at the seaside. The wind blows. The waves crash. People are dying and a strange spindly figure stalks the cold, deserted streets. A typical holiday for the Doctor and Leela in other words. When they stumble across a grotesque series of murders at the coast, the TARDIS travellers realise the local constabulary is out of its depth. Something supernatural has come to town, something evil. And it all seems to be tied in to a particular young family. Monsters lurk behind strange doors. Tragic secrets wait to be uncovered. And somewhere, deep within, the Crooked Man sits. He is waiting for you. Written By: John DorneyDirected By: Nicholas Briggs

Episode 224: None of that Merriam-Webster Garbage
Trust Your DoctorVerbose – Adj. Using or expressed in more words than are needed.
Kiyan and Dylan are now recording using remote bodies! This is the technology of the future, and we have it right now! Not gonna lie, this is a bit weird. I can’t feel my fingers anymore. Or my legs. Or my head. Its The Rebel Flesh and The Almost People, written by Matthew Graham and aired on May 21 and 28, 2011.
Show-notes:
1:29 Matthew Graham created Life on Mars and sequel Ashes to Ashes. Only the first show has John Simm, but both shows involve a police officer who goes back in time.
10:38 It was probably Ace Lightning.
47:31 Here’s the image of Alice, done by John Tenniel.

078 - Don We Now Our No Apparel
Arrow of Time
You know that dream where you go to church, but make the beginner’s mistake of not wearing clothes? Well hold on to your trousers, because it just became The Most Awkward Doctor Who Plot Device, Ever! In the ostensible Christmas special “The Time of the Doctor,” Steven Moffat borrows heavily from everything he’s ever written and some things he hasn’t, and then throws in a dash of implied/not-so-implied nudity just to angry up the fans. Christmas is in jeopardy (the town, not the holiday), all of his enemies have returned, and the Doc’s running around starkers! This really is a weird thing to be focusing on around Christmas (the holiday, not the town). Our fully dressed WhoTube this week has Kelsey Kronenberg bringing us “doctor who last christmas” - http://youtu.be/BGmyRAPNvt8

Metebelis 2 #94 - Park Hill
Doctor Who: The Metebelis 2From the get-go, the Metebelis two veer off on tangents in their discussion of Series 11, episode 4: The Spiders of Sheffield. Ben and David think that the great character moments needed a bit more of plot to support them. And, were the spiders good or evil in this story? They speculate on the story's loose ends: such as Kevin and Frankie, the wee beastie in Anna's flat, and Robertson? Is Chibnall pulling his punches? The lads do their very best grumpy old men impressions throughout this podcast, so don't say you weren't warned. Opening music is from Segun Akinola's score and the closing is the last bit of the episode.
