So it's come to this. The inevitable can no longer be put off. It's time to go once more, into the abyss. Yes, it's The Oncoming Storm episode 43, the conclusion to Star Trek / Doctor Who. Your hosts Ashley and Josh aren't happy about it, the readers couldn't have been happy about it, and we suspect the listeners won't be too happy about it. But it has to be done. It's so bad that Josh can't even be bothered to correct Ashley's pronunciation of Locutus. Will your hosts have the strength to make it through 4 issues of this??? Josh and Ashley know one thing for sure, if they never have to see a discussion between Picard, the Doctor, and Guinan agaib, they will have lived a good life. The Oncoming Storm... This time, we're got more talking... and talking... oh dear lord, the talking. It will forever haunt the boring places of our dreams.

The Doctor, Ben and Polly soon discover to their cost, however, that these are far from hospitable times. The local Squire is at the head of a plot to offload contraband, whilst a long-rumoured hoard of stolen treasure has drawn attention to the village church. Inadvertently stumbling upon this web of deception and double-crossing, the time travellers are rapidly propelled into danger.

I suspect Chip gave a listen to the “End of Time” episode and felt moved to action enough come on the podcast and lay down some very strong pro-RTD statements.

I have to say despite my Moffat fanboyism and Chip’s RTD fanboyism we don’t disagree with quite as much as he or I (or you the listeners) were probably thinking that we would. We still have a lively discussion though and I think Chip makes a very strong case for not dismissing the series 4 finale quite as easily as a lot of people do.
