Big Blue Box Podcast - Episode 79
The Doctor Who Big Blue Box PodcastHey Who fans, it’s episode 79. We start a new section of the show this week – Merch Corner which starts after the news. We then have an emotional review of Vincent and the Doctor so let’s do this.
The News
Who would have thought Series 1 from new Who would be so popular? BBC Worldwide have revealed that at their trade even Showtime, Doctor Who: Series 1 is the most purchased show for broadcast worldwide. Go 9 and Rose!
Sad news now. Actor Jon Rollason who played journalist Harold Chorley in the Troughton story The Web of Fear has passed away, aged 84. Involved in various TV projects including The Avengers and Coronation Street, we’ll remember him as the cowardly and often pushy Mr Chorley.
With lots of mud slinging going on with Netflix at the moment and their imminent withdrawal of Who from it’s service, we have good news for our Canadian friends. Streaming service CraveTV have picked up the contract to show Who later this year. Starting with Series 9 after in broadcasts on Space, all previous 8 series’ will then be added by the end of the year. Some good news at least for some fans.
Merch Corner
Welcome to Merch Corner, a place to inform you of upcoming Doctor Who collectibles and various other items that, like us, you’ll want to get your hands on. Let’s kick the first one off…
US online store ThinkGeek have a special Cyberman silver vinyl edition of the 50th Anniversary soundtrack titled 50 Years in the TARDIS.
Those amazing looking mini-statues we saw at the official Festival last year are now up for pre-order from Robert Harrop.
If you’ve heard of Loot Crate then this variation on it might interest you. Nerd Block’s March offering has at least one Who item inside along with some other cool movie franchise gifts.
“Vincent and the Doctor” Review
Hello again Matt Smith! Yes we’re back with The Doctor and Amy as they travel back in time to try and save one of the greatest artists we’ve ever known. It’s full of emotion and touching moments but does it get us going or is it like watching paint dry?
Thank you for listening. Next week it’s the long awaited return of Mr Pertwee as we review The Claws of Axos so remember to post your thoughts on that. Until then have a great week and remember – Allons-y!

Episode 12: The Doctor's Wife vs. Vincent and the Doctor
A Disused Yeti
Risa Romano and Warren Jaycox are joined by Nandini Bapat for a discussion about the The Doctor's Wife and Vincent and the Doctor: which is preferable and why (though we love them both dearly)? Special thanks to Michelle Nishimura for filming. Recorded at Galaxy of Comics.

Doctor Whooch // Episode 083 // I Thought It Was Utah
Doctor WhoochIn which Mark Shepard is a handsome car hobo.
On this week's show, Danica and Brandon revisit the timeline of River Song with "The Impossible Astronaut", which features several different version of her, and should absolutely NOT get too confusing for our drunk-as-hell podcast. Spoiler alert: Mark Shepard is on it and he is DEFINITELY AMERICAN. Also, Jim the Fish is a thing. And tunnels? And Silence. And guns. And fun. Yes. Fun. FUNNN.
Outro music is SPECIFICALLY Nicki Minaj's part of "Monster"

The Oncoming Storm Ep 168: Pier Pressure, Night Thoughts, The Diary of River Song Vol 1
The Oncoming StormWell folks, making a podcast can be a tricky thing. The Oncoming Storm is no different. Sometimes you have technical problems, sometimes you have disagreements, and sometimes, only in the rarest of circumstances, you roll snake eyes, and NOTHING goes right. For Josh, Ashley, Rachel, and Jeff, this is that night. Episode 168 is trying to give you the latest news, and discuss Pier Pressure by Robert Ross, Night Thoughts by Edward Young, and The Diary of River Song Vol 1. And all of those things are there, it's just... well you'll have to hear for yourself. Oh, and FYI, we think we've censored all the cursing, but we're still marking it explicit, just in case. We can only hope that when the fandom civil war starts, it's not our fault. The Oncoming Storm... This time, we've got bleeps. A whole lotta bleeps.

DIDDLY DUM PODCAST 052 - When Guides Collide
Diddly Dum PodcastThe Four Faces of Delusion hold the inaugural meeting of the Diddly Dum Book Club by reviewing the New Adventures novel “Conundrum” (1994) by Steve Lyons. We also take advantage of the linking theme to review the Second Doctor story “The Mind Robber” from 1968.
Before that, Hayden looks forward to taking the TARDIS Set Tour at Cardiff next week while Matt reminisces about the game of Tour Guide Top Trumps which ensued when the TARDIS tour guides found out what he did for a living.
Along the way, we discover why Matt’s plan to attend a convention cosplaying as DCI Jack Meadows was frustrated; Doc explains the usefulness of “The Faraway Tree” for getting children to observe their bedtime; we learn how the root cause of all Ace’s character problems is that she’s more Morrissey fan than street fighter; and we end by asking are the days of conventions numbered?
Terrance Dicks drops in briefly to settle an argument over Spiridon and Exxilon. And we challenge politically correct censorship by asking the ultimate question of life, the universe and everything – shorts and sweaters for Enid Blyton’s kids or jeans and sweatshirts?
