Episode 165: There's a Sun!?!
Trust Your DoctorLast week (ish) there was a solar eclipse, at which point there briefly wasn’t a sun.
We’re sorry to report that Trust Your Doctor is ending. Turns out the Earth has been destroyed, and we were on it. Bit unfortunate that was, maybe next time we’ll try be as far away as possible when the Earth goes through a catastrophe.

Alternate Galaxies: Buffy the Vampire Slayer
The Doctor Who ShowRob and Dave have decided to occasionally take a look at great TV series and movies they enjoy, broadly from the genres of sci-fi and fantasy.
Not only will they look at them from all the usual angles you'd expect, but also what the broad appeal to a Doctor Who fan might be.
In this first episode, Buffy the Vampire Slayer.
Buffy the Vampire Slayer is an American supernatural drama television series created by Joss Whedon under his production tag, Mutant Enemy Productions with later co-executive producers being Jane Espenson, David Fury, David Greenwalt, Doug Petrie, Marti Noxon, and David Solomon.
The series premiered on March 10, 1997, on The WB and concluded on May 20, 2003, on UPN. The series narrative follows Buffy Summers (played by Sarah Michelle Gellar), the latest in a line of young women known as "Vampire Slayers", or simply "Slayers".
In the story, Slayers are "called" (chosen by fate) to battle against vampires, demons, and other forces of darkness. Being a young woman, Buffy wants to live a normal life, but as the series progresses, she learns to embrace her destiny.
Like previous Slayers, Buffy is aided by a Watcher, who guides, teaches, and trains her. Unlike her predecessors, Buffy surrounds herself with a circle of loyal friends who become known as the "Scooby Gang".

GeeklecticBlusterin' Bug-eyed Monsters! You might know him as the "idea guy" (pop pop pop!) who came up with the idea for a little show we like to call... "Adam Adamant Lives!", but - in fact - he's best known as the creator of Doctor Who. (That interview starts, oh, 20 minutes in. We get pretty punchy up to that point.) Also, Stephen, Andy, and Clay are joined by Cooper once again for the news segment, where we discuss conventions, the loss of a dear friend of the Doctor Who family, and Clay's actual excitement over the new Big Finish release "Tales From New Earth." Doctor Who - Ep155: Enemy of the Accents
The Doctor Who Big Blue Box PodcastHey Who fans. Thank you for jumping aboard the TARDIS for Episode 155. Great bit of news for a certain previous show runner, Adam and I are at polar opposites on this piece of merch and then onto our review for The Enemy of the World.
The News
Previous show runner Russell T Davies is awarded a Life Time Achievement Award and you could grab a signed script by Peter Capaldi (amongst other things) if you're quick. The DWAS, supported by Capaldi himself, have set up an auction on eBay to support Syrian Refugees in North London but it ends on 4th September so get in there if you can afford it.
Merch Corner
A Mr. Huffle replica. Yep. That is all.
"The Enemy of the World" Review
Yes, one of our favourite Doctor's playing a dual role in this "James Bond-esque" thriller of a story. Enough to keep us going over the six parts or are the dodgy accents enough to make us pull the plug?
Thank you as always for your support and sending in reviews. Next week it's our last of the "Capaldi stories we didn't do at the time so we're doing them now" reviews with The Caretaker. Have a fantastic week and remember - Allons-y!

Gallifrey Public Radio - A Doctor Who PodcastFive years without a go-round with your favourite sinister salt shakers is one heck of a dry spell. Shoehorning them into the middle of a temporal causality loop story rife with guerilla future freedom fighters, gorilla thuggees, and a Time Lord who’s been tipping into the wine cellar before attempting a mad dash on a fat-wheeled trike just pushes the whole thing into lunacy. TDP 699: Summer of Blakes 7 - 2.13 Star One
Tin Dog Podcast@TinDogPodcast 2017 Summer of #Blakes7 talks about B13 "Star One" David Maloney (uncredited) Chris Boucher 3 April 1979 8.2 (30) With the location of Star One finally revealed, Blake is determined to finish his mission and destroy the control facility that keeps the Federation functioning. Again, Avon urges him to reconsider destroying it but Blake refuses. Meanwhile, Servalan deals with a series of catastrophes throughout several Federation worlds - the only theory is that someone is tampering with Star One. Upon arriving at Star One, Blake discovers that it has been taken over by Andromedan aliens in human guise who are posing as technicians and disrupting the systems. The aliens think Blake is Travis and await his deactivation of the Star One's defences that will allow their 600-ship invasion force in to attack the Federation. When Travis arrives, he wounds Blake and deactivates the defences, but then is killed by Avon. Jenna then alerts the Federation of the invasion force and all return to Liberator where Avon takes charge and makes a stand against the invaders until the Federation forces arrive. Guest Stars: Jenny Twigge (as Lurena), John Bown (as Durkim), David Webb (as Stot), Gareth Armstrong (as Parton), Paul Toothill (as Marcol), Michael Mayard (as Leeth)

It takes an idea and makes 3D stuff
Who's He?Phil and Paul return to the Doctors audio adventures and this time they have selected David Tennant's and Catherine Tate's first audio adventure for Big Finish, Technophobia. In a bright and breezy review with no signs of either of them running for the hills at the sight of a microphone, both of our intrepid hosts find a lot to enjoy in this story and comment on whether this captures the essence of New Who and does it also recapture the 10th Doctor and Donna Noble relationship?
And in the news, rumour that Bradley Walsh is the new companion (which leads into a thread of "two handers"..... ooer!), RTD gets a lifetime achievement award and in Omega's Tat Corner and item of apparel that will make you stand out at any party!
