Untempered Schism Podcast #169 : Mummy on the Orient Express
The Untempered Schism PodcastThere is no such thing like a simple uneventful trip with the Twelfth Doctor and Clara, which is even more true when it's on a train as famous as the Orient Express (even if it's a spaceship that just happens to look like a train). With an anonymous mastermind pulling the strings and an evil computer to keep everyone in line, about the only thing anyone on the train could do is find out what the mummy running around really is, before it kills everyone on board.

You and Who Talking 022
The Doctor Who ShowWhat you are about to hear is the story of a connection, a connection that was made between a television series and a viewer's life.
The You and Who books are the story of that connection, as told by the people who watch the programmes that make us come alive. Chiefly, of course, Doctor Who.
This podcast will relate some of the stories from those books... and beyond.
In this episode:
Such Things as Dreams Are Made Of (or What Have Butterflies Ever Done to You?) by Dave Workman
With an introduction featuring Rob Irwin talking to JR Southall.
The You and Who books, from which all royalties are paid to charity, are available in print and for Kindle, from watchingbooks.weebly.com

Galaxy 4
Doctor Who: Whos On TargetGalaxy 4 by William Emms is where David and Greg are faced with the beautiful but cold and deadly Drahvins, the incredibly ugly but rather nicely spoken Rills, and are nearly knocked right over by their robotic servants the chumblies. What on Earth will we make of this lost (aside from one recently-discovered episode) oddity from Hartnell-era Who? And of course, we have the very first narration of a Target audio from the original Vicky herself - Maureen O'Brien.

GeeklecticJumpin' Jacobites! (wait, did we already use that one for "The Eaters Of Light"? Dunno. Anyway.) It's the aftermath of the Battle of Culloden, and the Second Doctor has taken the opportunity to steal some hats. Meanwhile, Polly teams up with a plucky character with "companion material" written all over, someone who's sure to become a fan favorite, you know 'em, you love 'em, it's... Kirsty! Also, we meet Jamie McCrimmon for the first time. He does some stuff. Also: lots of news, Kids Talk Who talks Sarah Jane and Daleks, and we dug up a long lost pop classic recorded by an actual Doctor Who companion. The Oncoming Storm Ep 206: The Stone Rose & Wave of Destruction
The Oncoming StormHey now, has it been a month already? Don't worry, we haven't given up on the show just yet! Josh, Ashley, Rachel, and Jeff are all back for episode 206 of The Oncoming Storm, and they have stories of cons, games, and wildfires from the month they were out. Once they catch up a month's worth of news, the team turns to the final audio picks of Jeff and Ashley. First up, Jeff picks a sentimental favorite, The Stone Rose by Jacqueline Rayner, as read by David Tennant. An audiobook featuring the 10th Doctor and Rose will surely bring the team together, right? After they recover from that, it's time for Ashley's random hat pick of Wave of Destruction by Justin Richards. Set in the infamous season 17 and featuring the 4th Doctor, Romana, and K-9, will Big Finish be able to capture some of that Douglas Adams magic? The Oncoming Storm... This time, we've got Vardans and talking monkey things! Yeah well, they can't all be winners in the evil monster category.

This is the last Capaldi story pre-series 10 for us to review. It's funny and emotional but is this often viewed "middle of the road" story enough for us to move up from that 5 score?
Thank you Who fans for listening and your thoughts. Next week it's the 4th Doctor's turn with The Horns of Nimon so get that watched. Until then have a brill week and remember - Allons-y!

Does This Smell Spoiled to You?
Gallifrey Public Radio - A Doctor Who PodcastWe’ve probably all fallen victim to it. Many of us have either inadvertently or (shamefully) explicitly done it ourselves. The issue of ‘spoilers’ are nothing new to storytelling, from publications and stagecraft, to radio broadcast, to screens large and small. But the inflammatory act of ruining another’s naive anticipation of a story twist or outcome is just as prevalent now as ever — daresay more so, because of the instantaneous nature of sharing immediate thoughts on multiple social networks, as […]

Staggering Stories Commentary #199: Doctor Who - Oxygen
Staggering Stories PodcastSummary:
Adam J Purcell, Andy Simpkins and Keith Dunn sit down, hypoxiated, in front of the 2017 Doctor Who S10 episode, ‘Oxygen’, and spout our usual nonsense!
Bill is having a bad suit day, the Doctor is giving her his helmet and the techno-zombies are running rampant. But enough of their problems, please sit down with us to enjoy Oxygen...

Alternate Galaxies: Buffy the Vampire Slayer
The Doctor Who ShowRob and Dave have decided to occasionally take a look at great TV series and movies they enjoy, broadly from the genres of sci-fi and fantasy.
Not only will they look at them from all the usual angles you'd expect, but also what the broad appeal to a Doctor Who fan might be.
In this first episode, Buffy the Vampire Slayer.
Buffy the Vampire Slayer is an American supernatural drama television series created by Joss Whedon under his production tag, Mutant Enemy Productions with later co-executive producers being Jane Espenson, David Fury, David Greenwalt, Doug Petrie, Marti Noxon, and David Solomon.
The series premiered on March 10, 1997, on The WB and concluded on May 20, 2003, on UPN. The series narrative follows Buffy Summers (played by Sarah Michelle Gellar), the latest in a line of young women known as "Vampire Slayers", or simply "Slayers".
In the story, Slayers are "called" (chosen by fate) to battle against vampires, demons, and other forces of darkness. Being a young woman, Buffy wants to live a normal life, but as the series progresses, she learns to embrace her destiny.
Like previous Slayers, Buffy is aided by a Watcher, who guides, teaches, and trains her. Unlike her predecessors, Buffy surrounds herself with a circle of loyal friends who become known as the "Scooby Gang".
