TDP 1042: DU1.3. #DoctorWho Dalek Universe 3
Tin Dog PodcastThis title was released in October 2021. It will be exclusively available to buy from the Big Finish website until 31 January 2022, and on general sale after this date. Lost in a universe before the Time War, the Doctor is still struggling to find a way back home... but has only found himself in the middle of another war. A very familiar war, involving his oldest enemies – and their malevolent creator. However he’s not alone – as there are old friends here too. At least he thinks they’re old friends... but when the stakes are as high as this, can he really be sure who to trust? What side are they truly on? 3.1 The First Son by Lizzie Hopley The Doctor’s attempts to return home have led him to the middle of a war zone... and a familiar voice. The travellers have arrived on a planet made up of crashed space-ships where they encounter River Song... Or do they? Because she’s dressed as a Movellan and claims to be a member of that robot race. Is she undercover, a duplicate, or something more sinister? And more importantly... who is her son? 3.2 The Dalek Defence by Matt Fitton The Doctor and Anya are trapped between battling Dalek and Movellan forces and only the intervention of Earth can get them out of trouble. But the humans have troubles too – and a very familiar prisoner. Davros. Stuck in a universe before the Time War, the Doctor is bound by the rules of his own past... Can he keep everyone alive without changing history? And would he even want to? 3.3 The Triumph of Davros by Matt Fitton Returning to a familiar planet, with Movellan and Dalek warships floating in the sky above, the stakes for the time-travellers are higher than ever. The mistakes of the Doctor’s past are coming back to haunt him. Alliances are made and broken. And the course of the war is about to turn. The Doctor can’t stop what’s coming. But maybe, just maybe... he may be able to save his friends. This boxset release contains all three stories, plus additional behind the scenes interviews.

Episode 11 - The Curse of Peladon (with Ross from Gallifrey's Most Wanted)
Doctor Who LiteratureWe're up to the 1975 Target Doctor Who novelization releases. Up first, the first novelization (of two) by Brian Hayles, featuring the first novelization (of four) to feature the Ice Warriors.
Stand by... for news. A lot happened in the Doctor Who universe this week. We learned the identity of the next five Target novelizations: three New Series adventures, and new takes on two Classic Series tales. We learned which Classic Series season is getting the Blu-ray treatment, via another canon-worthy Pete McTighe-scripted trailer, and with a tantalizing set of new Chris Chapman documentaries, Matthew Sweet interviews, and all the other usual Behind the Sofa-type goodness. And, lastly, happy birthday to Doctor Who's reigning elder statesman.Once we get to the book, the first half of the episode is Jason and his trademark breakdown Brian Hayles' prose style and narrative choices.
In the last half of the episode, I'm delighted to be joined by Ross from Gallifrey's Most Wanted, who provides a different take on Hayles' prose style. We thoroughly explore the politics of this story, and what those politics look like today, both in the UK, where the Peladon adventures were written, and here in the States, where similar issues continue to drive the political narrative. This is a can't-miss conversation.

126. Let Bigon Be Bigon
On the Time LashBen and Mark can find nothing with the emotional complexity to compare with It Takes You Away and so pair it with another story featuring a frog on a chair, Four to Doomsday.
Comparing Jodie Whittaker with Peter Davison sparks some interesting discussions about the regard which each of their eras are held. Is the frog on the chair the most Doctor Who moment in post-2005 Doctor Who?
ALSO: Kwuok Facts! A Degsey's Ding-Dong Ping-Pong upset! A golden shower from Stratford Johns!

151 TLTT Let Zygons Be Zygons. w Author Simon Fisher-Becker
The Legend of the Traveling Tardis with Christian BaselThe Legend of the Traveling TARDIS honors and interviews one of its own. Actor Simon-Fisher Becker. author of "My Dalek Has a Puncture," and "My Dalek Has Another Puncture," talks about his third book in the series, "Let Zygons Be Zygons."
"Let Zygons Be Zygons follows the track of the first two in charting the ups and downs of a long career with brutal honesty, delving into the dark side of life as well as the rewards of becoming known to sci-fi fans worldwide as Doctor Who’s bright blue Dorium Maldovar, intergalactic black marketeer.
In this final volume, he talks about his unexpected role of Agony Uncle to people who recognize their own experiences in the problems that he talks about openly. Simon is clear; he never gives advice, just makes suggestions, believing in the importance of allowing people to make their own decisions and take responsibility for their actions." - Amazon.com

42 to Doomsday Staff Xmas Party – Seventh Heaven!
42 To DoomsdayEpisode 97 – It's time again for our regular (and slightly delayed) 7th staff Christmas party (or as we are calling it our Summer Special!) where Mark is joined by Dave, Richard and Rob (via time eddy!) in a 2 hour plus extravaganza talking all things Doctor Who!
We digest and regurgitate over Flux, discuss what makes a good TV producer, especially in the context of our favourite program, chat about our Top 3 Deaths in Doctor Who, Target Book Club where we revisit the novels of writers who only had one stab and then....our big one! That's right, the much heralded Fanwank of the Year Awards © where we nominate our ‘highlights’ for 2021. Does Big Finish runaway with all the awards, or do we have bigger fish to fry?
So strap yourselves in as we chat and laugh our way through our topics. Plus, who is the Laura Ashley of Doctor Who and more importantly will Rob’s Time Eddy be able to smash through the Vortex without the power of Patreon funds!!??
