Doctor Who: The Metebelis 2Kicking off this pod, Ben recounts his visit to Gunnerysbury Museum to see "Set to Stun: Designing and Filming Sci-Fi in West London". Then we watch and discuss the two teaser trailers put out by the BBC in anticipation of Ncuti Gatwa's first season of Doctor Who with our usual spoiler-free rampant speculation, wild theories, spotting of the pre-title sequence clip, and more. Opening music is from "Bowie" by Flight of the Conchords and closing music is from David Bowie's demo of "Changes". We recorded this episode on 21 April 2024.

He's written for countless comic franchises including Logan's Run (and his own - Discord), worked as a special effects makeup artist for some of the biggest names in Hollywood, created incredible puppetry for many big-named films, and even won a Saturn award for his own film that he wrote & directed, Encounter (2019). Salamoff and he joins us to talk about all of these things and of course his love of Doctor Who.
Then Paul brings us his Pick of the Month - the iconic CBS anthology series, The Twilight Zone! Who Killed Kennedy - Synopsis
The Doctor Who ShowOn this Sunday's flagship show, we review the 1996 Virgin Publishing Doctor Who novel, Who Killed Kennedy.
We appreciate it might be some time since some of you read it, and many of you might have never read it at all (being a nearly 30 year-old novel!), so this episode serves as a synopsis of the novel, enabling you to brush up on the basic storyline.
Take note, this isn't a discussion, and it rattles along at a fair old pace. If you're not up on the first few seasons of Pertwee (and even a few stories that happened before his era), you might miss some of what's going on in this one. But stick with it, and try to get the flavour of what's going on, and we're sure it will benefit you when listening to us talk about the novel on Sunday.
See you then!

TDP 1251: REVIEW 1.3. Doctor Who: Sontarans vs Rutans: Born to Die
Tin Dog PodcastThis title was released in March 2024. It will be exclusively available to buy from the Big Finish website until 30 April 2024, and on general sale after this date. The war between the Sontarans and the Rutans has been going on for millennia. And is likely to continue for millennia more. A terrible conflict with no care for consequences or collateral damage. Billions have died with no end in sight. Its reach can encompass ancient Ireland and a forest world in the far future. Encounters with UNIT and a Doctor no more. From the outside these battles may seem disconnected. But sometimes there is a common thread. And unpicking that could destroy everything. When a trip to the planet Taxodon goes wrong the Doctor finds himself with mere hours to prove himself innocent of murdering a Sontaran. As more die, the Doctor and Charley need to uncover the cause and why the Sontarans are even on this planet... if they have time.

143: Carnival of Monsters
The Krynoid PodcastWe're used to looking at a screen and seeing dodgy creatures attacking a pair of plucky adventurers.
With Carnival of Monsters, you can watch other folk doing the same thing. It's like Gogglebox with grey aliens.
Can a chota peg really solve any behemoth-based problem?
How easy is it to drug-mule a set of skeleton keys?
How many seconds were spent making the Functionary masks and how much change did they get out of a pound note?
And were Jim and Martin amused by the miniscope or did it leave them colder than an Inter Minor welcome?
Listen to find out!
This episode can also be found at iTunes/Apple Podcasts, Spotify, Audible and all other podcatchers (as far as we know).
You can also find us on Facebook, Threads and Bluesky (but we've exited X - far too Musky for our tastes these days).
Thanks for listening

Podcastica Episode 307: Boom Town OR The Cardiff Explosion
PodcasticaWell, they can't all be complete winners. And while Boom Town is better than our last episode, The Long Game, it still isn't great. But, as we always do, we make our way through to find the good bits and polish them up as best we can. And on a programming note, we're going to take an extra week off to rest up, refresh, and be ready for the start of the first season of New Modern Who! So we'll be back around May 15th!

Episode 110A -- Find Your Fate: Mission to Venus (with Tony Whitt)
Doctor Who LiteratureThis week Doctor Who Literature is NOT covering a Target book. 1986 was a bumper year for Doctor Who fiction, and, in the States, Ballantine Books got in on the action with both the man in the blue box, AND the still going-strong Choose Your Own Adventure craze, with a series of six books in the Find Your Fate series.
Joining me to read through -- and play -- this book is my old friend Tony Whitt of the Doctor Who Target Book Club Podcast, without which this show might not exist. Tony never holds back on his opinions, and we both have a lot to say. And not just about Doctor Who.

Star Wars Episode III - Revenge of the Sith
The Doctor Who ShowStar Wars Episode III - Revenge of the Sith was released in 2005 and tonight, The Doctor Who Show team examines it in what must rate as one of the coldest of cold takes ever committed to a digital recording.
What are our memories of the movie on release? What are our thoughts on it now, after a 2024 re-watch?
If you’ve got an hour to spare, sit back, relax, and join us in an ALTERNATE GALAXIES episode that travels to a long time ago, in a galaxy far, far away to try and review the film, once and for all, with no contemporary distractions.
By the way, we reviewed Star Wars Episode II – Attack of the Clones in March and Star Wars Episode I – The Phantom Menace in February, if you haven't heard our takes on the two earlier installments in the prequel trilogy.
