A bit more Gallifrey One coverage this week with the Freema Agyeman panel, this was her first North American convention and she really seemed to enjoy herself despite a busy schedule meaning she was on a flight back to the East Coast before the weekend was over. The Four Faces of Delusion become five as we complete our set of Blue Box Podcasters by welcoming Mark Cockram to the Diddly Dum Whoseum.

Mark has brought along a number of items which are redolent for him of a life with the Doctor. From Jon Pertwee’s “Who is the Doctor” single to the Graham Williams era via Loose Cannon reconstructions. As for the man who stopped Tom Baker on Oxford Street and told him about his childhood in a care home, Mark’s own tale of his primary school Tom Baker trauma knocks that into a cocked hat.

Along the way, we toast absent friends in the finest vintage of Dandelion & Burdock while extrapolating the succession of Doctors we might have had if the late Ron Moody had succeeded Patrick Troughton – William Hartnell, Pat Troughton, Ron Moody, the Stay Puft Marshmallow Man and Christopher Lee in cricket whites. We discover that Hayden’s great-grandfather was the first person ever to sell Ford motor cars…(listen in to hear the end of that sentence). We also hear of Mark’s memories of seeing Matthew Waterhouse in a stage production of Treasure Island and the role of “Inherit the Wind” in the Cockram family acquiring their first VCR.

You don’t have to travel through time to divine that this week we’re talking about Doc number nine! One good thing to come from watching the John Nathan-Turner era of Doctor Who is a newfound appreciation for tolerance of Russel T Davies. Despite his relative awfulness, Rusty earns a feather in his cap for managing to find a fantastic actor to portray the new Doctor, a certain Christopher “Chris” Eccleston. Though he was never really a big fan of the show, Chris “Don’t Call Me Chris” Eccleston tackles the role with aplomb. And sometimes a banana. Bananas are good!

It's the turn of Doctor Who from Christmas past as Phil and Paul take a look at the 2008 Christmas special The Next Doctor.  During the course of dissecting this story of Cybermen and mistaken identity, you will hear things that have nothing to do with the episode in hand, like Tom Petty, Roy Orbison, The Travelling Wilburys, The Crying Boy, The Blue Boy and Labradoodles.  Now what other podcast brings you such a wide range of topics eh?

And in the news this week there are plenty of surpises in store for this years Christmas special, The Snowmen and updates on next years BFI 50th Anniversary events and DVD releases.
