Episode 137: Bear Attacks at the BBC
Trust Your DoctorWhen are we getting a serious bear themed episode of Doctor Who?
Wow who would have guess that Davros would come back? And who would guess that this serial would basically display genocide? About 6 people made it out of this serial alive. Amazing. It’s Resurrection of the Daleks written by Eric Saward and aired in February of 1984.
Show-notes:
1:52 It was because of the 1984 winter Olympics in Sarajevo, Yugoslavia. Interestingly, that was one of the only Olympic games held in a communist country.
3:33 NECESSARY TECHNOLOGY.
18:55 Oh bugger.
26:41 And then he breaks into song.
32:10 You mean this one?

By way of introducing them and their backgrounds, we look at how each of us got involved in Doctor Who fandom.
Along the way, Allan covers holograms on the Liverpool waterfront, Mark tells how he once nearly ruined a theatre performance by Jan Chappell (Cally from Blake’s 7), Hayden recalls his seminal “Gallifrey Galaxy Globetrotters” work for Celestial Toyroom and Doc asks why, if monkeys are so smart, they’ve never produced anything like Northern Soul.

Our 200 Episode Diary
Gallifrey Public Radio - A Doctor Who PodcastFrom the early recordings of two American fans of Doctor Who ecstatic over the just-aired episode, to the live recordings at Whovian conventions joined by listeners from far and wide, the GPR studio has grown from an extracurricular activity to a critical part of our lives. (I'm speaking personally at the moment, here, but as you'll hear in the cast, the sentiment is shared.) Five years and 200 installments later, we have made more friends than we can count within this vast, complex, and impressive fan community. We'd say we owe it all to the Doctor, but in truth: we owe it all to you. Join the GPR trio as we reflect on 200 episodes of our modest Doctor Who podcast, the impact that creating and producing the cast has had on each of our lives, and the profound respect and thanks we have for all those who have contributed, supported, and listened to us for the past half decade. Big Blue Box Podcast - Episode 109
The Doctor Who Big Blue Box PodcastHello Who fans and welcome to episode 109. Standard format this week; latest news, bit of merch then onto our review of The Lazarus Experiment.
The News
A new teaser image has been released for Class which shows some math on a board and a laser pistol.
Some more details have been released for the upcoming Power of the Daleks event at the BFI in November. Tickets go on sale at 11:30am on the 4th October priced at PS22.70 – be there promptly!
Merch
Just one bit of merch this week as Big Finish announce volume two of Classic Doctors, New Monsters which this time will feature the Racnos.
“The Lazarus Experiment” Review
We’re big fans of Tennent as you know but how does this one stack up? Series 3 is interesting as Martha is now on board but the Doctor doesn’t want a full on companion, or does he? We’re loving this one like a pleasant gathering of people in swanky London or does it mutate into an awful monster?
Thank you all for listening and a big hello to our new listeners. Next week is the classic story The Green Death up for review so get your thoughts in for that. Until than have a lovely week and as always – Allons-y!!

The Oncoming Storm Ep 183: Blood of the Daleks 2, The Runaway Train, 45, Technophobia
The Oncoming StormIt's episode 183 of the Oncoming Storm, and no one's getting along! Josh is definitely not getting along with his computer, as Skype keeps switching his microphone from the nice one to the crappy desktop one. (apologies everyone for the audio quality on this one. It won't happen again) It gets worse once the reviews start, when Josh, Ashley, Rachel, and Jeff cannot seem to come to a consensus on ANYTHING. First up, we finally get to Blood of the Daleks part 2 by Steve Lyons, and the Lucie Miller arguments start! Next, Matt Smith reads The Runaway Train by Oli Smith. And the arguments about format and the Moffat era start! After that, we talk 45, by Mark Morris, Nick Scovell, Mark Michalowski, and Steven Hall. Honestly, we all pretty much agree on the great parts of this one. But finally, it's time to discuss 10th Doctor story Technophobia by Matt Fitton. And you guessed it, the arguments on Tennant and RTD start. It's gonna be one of those episodes. The Oncoming Storm... This time, we've got waaaaaay too many stories to discuss. Find a comfortable seat before listening.

Wanderers in the 4th Dimension: A Journey Through Doctor Who
This week we cover story #108.5, Shada! In this unfinished serial, the Doctor and Romana visit Professor Chronotis on Earth in the 1970s -- but what dark secret does he hide, and who is the mysterious Skagra who is after the man and his Gallifreyan book? In this extra-long episode we review FOUR different versions of Shada!
QotW: In #Shada a TARDIS appears as a college room. What real-life building do you think might be a TARDIS?
