080: Ghost Light
The Krynoid Podcast"Professor... what's going on?!"
Good question, Ace.
The last ever classic Who story to be recorded, Ghost Light, is something of a period-piece puzzle - with a few pieces missing.
But it does include dinner-suited monsters, gun-toting maids, an insane explorer, a simian sermoniser and a Neanderthal butler (doesn't every home have one?). This madhouse is presided over by a dusty but upwardly mobile photophobe, with high treason on his ever-evolving mind.
But he doesn't bargain on the devious Doctor and the arsonous Ace, ably abetted by a racist rozzer and an uncontrolled control experiment.
Enter the angelic, anally retentive Light and the Earth is in imminent danger of being purged in a fit of OCD pique.
But can Jim and Martin shed any light on proceedings? Listen in and decide for yourself.

Torchwood vs. U.N.I.T.
Gallifrey Public Radio - A Doctor Who PodcastWhen you think teams that have been developed for the sole purpose of protecting humanity from the countless dangers and unfathomable powers of the collective cosmos, you may think of some spandex-clad superheroes zipping about in all their box office-smashing glory. (Excelsior!) But if you’re a Whovian, that leaves you debating between two well-established, well-respected entities: Torchwood; and U.N.I.T. But why do we have two of these organizations? In this week’s nearly academic discussion, we look at what we know […]

(Excelsior!) But if you're a Whovian, that leaves you debating between two well-established, well-respected entities: Torchwood; and U.N.I.T. But why do we have two of these organizations? In this week's nearly academic discussion, we look at what we know of Torchwood and U.N.I.T., how they compare and contrast, and hypothesize why they haven't crossed paths more often in Doctor Who canon. (Hint: it probably has something to do with Jack Harkness' libido.) Big Blue Box Podcast - Episode 86
The Doctor Who Big Blue Box PodcastWelcome back Who fans and while news and merch continues to run a bit slow, we’re hopefully getting you through the Who drought!? Without further ado, let’s get into episode 86!
The News
The Restoration Team, responsible for the (mostly) great looking classic dvd’s in your collections, have updated their website with interesting tid bits on the last batch of classic releases and another week, more sad news as star of Blake’s 7 Gareth Thomas passed away aged 71. Blake’s 7 is often paired with classic Who as it was written by Terry Nation and Gareth Thomas himself is connected to Who by way of starring in Torchwood and Big Finish.
Merch Corner
It’s a comics week as Titan launch the new 9th Doctor range and they’ve also announced a new Torchwood run that will start this July, written by Captain Jack John Barrowman and Carole E. Barrowman.
“The Vampires of Venice” Review
Blood sucking vampires, creepy setting and marital tiffs. Does Toby Whithouse’s script deliver a scary enough story or do we feel like we’ve been smacked in the face with a blue-lobster-pointy fish, thing? Our review scores await.
Thank you as always for all your support and your views. Next week it’s that crazy-haired 6th Doctor’s turn when we review The Twin Dilemma. Have a great week and until next time – Allons-y!

The Oncoming Storm Ep 171: NA # 44 - The Also People
The Oncoming StormThe moment Josh has been waiting for has finally arrived. After a short delay at Oncoming Storm HQ, episode 171 sees Josh, Ashley, and Jeff reviewing Josh's favorite New Adventure (and, let's be honest, favorite Doctor Who book and one of the his favorite books period) The Also People, by Ben Aaronovitch . It's a quaint story where the Doctor meets God. OK, not that God, but a hyper intelligent artificial intelligence that sees over the People, a race composed of people both biological and mechanical that lives inside a Dyson Sphere. Oh, and Kadiatu is there too. But she's kinda feral crazy, and the Doctor may have to kill her. As you do. Anyway, come see if Ashley and Jeff are wise enough to join Josh in the cult of The Also People, or if they just have no taste at all. The Oncoming Storm... this time, we've got a talking parachute. And a talking fish. Honestly, pretty much everything in the Dyson Sphere talks. I bet going to the bathroom is awkward there.

TDP 570: CALL ME JACKS - JACQUELINE PEARCE IN CONVERSATION
Tin Dog PodcastSynopsis Jacqueline Pearce is well-known to fans of British Sci-Fi television as the iconic Supreme Commander Servalan in Blake's 7, or perhaps as Chessene o' the Franzine Grig in Doctor Who's The Two Doctors. Over a bottle of champagne, she gives an uncompromising interview to Big Finish's Nicholas Briggs, discussing her past triumphs and times. Please note that this release contains very strong language and material which may be unsuitable for younger listeners. All copies of the CD version purchased before the March 2016 release will be signed by Jacqueline. Written By: N/ADirected By: N/A Cast Jacqueline Pearce, Nicholas Briggs (Interviewer)

107 - A Tale of Two Families
Doctor Who: Verity! The first year of new-Who continues with its first two-parter. Join Deb, Erika, Lynne, and Tansy as we delve deep (I mean DEEP) into the relationships and characterizations and implications in "Aliens of London" and "World War Three". Yes, we touch on the farting aliens, but there's so much more in this story. It's a bit of an anchor point for the arcs of several of our characters, and we tug hard on that anchor.
In addition, we talk about the importance of libraries (Happy National Library Week!), the Doctor as a soldier, and someone utters the phrase "barfing emotions". It's quite a ride.
What do you think of this two-parter? Did the farting aliens or the domesticity turn you off? Or did you enjoy the drama? And is your reaction any different now than the first time you saw this (assuming you have seen it before)? Let us know in the comments!

- Lynne has 13 hours of David Tennant to listen to, as they re-released his BBC audios in a boxed set!
- Erika is getting excited for the spin-off, Class!
- Tansy

- helped her daughter through the DW rite of passage that is learning about the missing episodes.

Traveling the VortexThis week’s episode of the podcast focuses on the first story in the second season of Big Finish’s Fourth Doctor Adventures with The Auntie Matter. We provide our impressions of the story featuring the Fourth Doctor as portrayed by Tom Baker and the return of Mary Tamm in the role of Romana.
Also, we take a look at the first five issues of Year Two of Titan’s Eleventh Doctor Comic series, featuring a familiar comics companion from long ago, Abslom Daak: Dalek Killer, and a not-so-familiar returning companion, known so far as the Squire.
Plus, some recent news.
Enjoy!
