Classic Rewatch: Spearhead From Space
Gallifrey Public Radio - A Doctor Who PodcastSo begins another era in the wildly unpredictable history of Doctor Who. The departure of Patrick Troughton and his co-stars at the close of the sixth season added additional uncertainty to the direction (or entire future) of the show. Producers, writers, and script editors including the legendary Terrance Dicks and Derrick Sherwin set out to redefine the television programme, breathing new life with new filming techniques, supporting cast, theme and tone, and the casting of a lead actor who could carry the demands of affability, action, […]

The Oncoming Storm Ep 189: Frozen Time, Angel of Scutari, The Claws of Santa, The Eighth Piece
The Oncoming StormAnd so we finally come to the end of 2016, not with a bang or even a whimper, but with a ton of technical problems, distractions, and missing members of the show. Yes, episode 189 of The Oncoming Storm is 2016 in a nutshell; full of good intentions but filled with random disasters. But don't let that scare you off! This supersized send off sees Josh, Ashley, Jeff, and Rachel doing their best to make it through the home stretch. First up is Frozen Time, by Nicholas Briggs. Spoilers: it's Ashley's pick and has Ice Warriors in it! Then it's over to Josh's pick of The Angel of Scutari by Paul Sutton. Hex is doing his nurse thing alongside Florence Nightingale while the Doctor has to ensure that he dies to maintain the web of time! Next is Jeff's holiday pick, Iris Wildthyme and the Claws of Santa by Cavan Scott and Mark Wright. It's every bit as wild as you'd think a story with Iris, Santa Claus, and a wisecracking robot would be. And finally Rachel has the crew stay with Doom Coalition 3 as they review The Eighth Piece by Matt Fitton. It's... not as satisfying as you'd hope, even with River Song in a nun's outfit! The Oncoming Storm... This time, we're just happy to have made it out of the year alive. See you in 2017!

088: Planet of the Daleks
The Krynoid Podcast"It was terrible... and then I got rescued by this bowl."
No, not a symptom of BBC budget cuts - although its economically-priced, invisible owner may have been.
It's the Planet of the Daleks - or, more accurately, the planet of the plants which either spy or spray, the molten ice which somehow isn't just water and the locals who are definitely more than meets the eye.
Chuck into this great big ice-melting pot a poorly Time Lord, a lady with an embarrassing fungal infection, some flaxen-haired, squabbling space-squaddies and the most evil wheelie bins in the ninth system, and you have all the makings of an epic six-parter.
But does it deliver like Santa or disappoint like... erm... Satan...?
Listen in to find out.

TDP 630: Survivors 5 from Big Finish
Tin Dog PodcastSynopsis It begins with just a few people falling ill. Another flu virus that spreads around the globe. And then the reports begin that people are dying... When most of the world's population is wiped out, a handful of survivors are left to pick up the pieces. Cities become graveyards. Technology becomes largely obsolete. Mankind must start again. But viruses are survivors too... 5.1 The Second Coming by Andrew Smith Millions died when the plague swept the globe. Such a thing couldn't possibly happen again - or could it? When Abby Grant and Evelyn Piper both arrive at Carol Baker's Maythorne community, a chain of events is set in motion that could unleash a new wave of death across the country. 5.2 New Blood by Christopher Hatherall Danger surrounds Whitecross when a simple border dispute exposes deadly tensions between those who live side by side. Greg Preston and Jenny Richards soon find themselves fighting for their lives, as people in the grip of a terrible new fear turn to the old ways to protect themselves... 5.3 Angel of Death by Simon Clark Emerging from a quarantined Whitecross, Greg and Jenny discover that the danger they glimpsed at Springton is far from over. Meanwhile, as isolated communities find themselves exposed to a disease they know nothing about, Abby joins a desperate race to save lives. 5.4 Come the Horsemen by Andrew Smith In times of crisis, rumour and fear run rife across the decimated landscape of Britain. Evelyn and Abby experience the lethal effects of this panic first hand. At such times the worst of humanity is exposed. Can Greg and Jenny find the best in those around them? Or is there no way to avoid the coming of the horsemen? NOTE: Survivors contains adult material and is not suitable for younger listeners. Written By: Andrew Smith, Christopher Hatherall and Simon Clark Directed By: Ken Bentley Cast Carolyn Seymour (Abby Grant), Ian McCulloch (Greg Preston), Lucy Fleming(Jenny), Fiona Sheehan (Hannah), Zoe Tapper (Evelyn Piper), Neve McIntosh (Carol Baker), Sean Biggerstaff (Healy), Barnaby Edwards (John Woodley/Old Scavenger/Stuart), Andy Secombe (Ben Turner), Fintan McKeown (Patrick Regan), Richard Hope (Silas Broome), Alex Clatworthy (Summer Broome/Elsie), Donna Berlin (Pearl Ironsmith), Ekow Quartey (Dylan), Elizabeth Payne (Beatrice/Margo), Roger May (Lenny Bryson) Other parts played by members of the cast. Doctor Whooch // Episode 106 // Professors of Doctor Who
Doctor WhoochIn which everything you hear is adatomically correct.
On this episode, Danica and Brandon are nearing the end of Class with episode seven - "The Metaphysical Engine or What Quill Did", and the whole thing is about deep smooching as three grown ass adults bang around in a tub. Also, someone murders a satan, and the ending is super weird. But uh... that's Class.
Outro music is "Tubthumping" by Pastel Vespa
