Radio Free Skaro #1031 - Before and After Science
Radio Free SkaroA sad time in the world of Doctor Who as we mark the passing of writing titan Christopher H. Bidmead, and to join us in reflecting on both his work and life is Andrew Smith, writer of “Full Circle”, Big Finish dynamo, and friend of the esteemed Mr. Bidmead. Andrew looks back at getting his first break in TV due to Bidmead, working with him on behind the scenes features, and the man’s general approach to Doctor Who, including an infusion of science and a real sense of continuity where none previously existed. We’ve also got the usual bevy of news including more vague handwaving on the future of Doctor Who, 1970’s Cyberman dolly goodness, a new fancy tier for Britbox, and more!

What next?!
The Doctor Who PodcastThe TARDIS is “going nowhere” apparently! That’s what the BBC said said week – and the irony is that’s how it all began, in a junkyard, in 1963…….!
Join Phil and James as they talk about where Doctor Who is now and speculate about when we can expect it to be back on our screens. Has Disney Plus disappeared in to the sunset with their big bag of cash? Has RTD cried (Bad) Wolf once too often? Will we ever know why Billie Piper and Carole Ann Ford were actually in the last series at all?! All this and more gossip, news and feedback besides!
As always, we’d love to hear from you! Get in touch by emailing the Campervan at feedback@thedoctorwhopodcast.com, Tweeting or Xing us, or jump on our Facebook Page or Group.
Enjoy the show.

TDP 1382: #DoctorWho: The Fugitive Doctor: Dead or Alive REVIEW
Tin Dog PodcastThis title was released in July 2025. It will be exclusively available to buy from the Big Finish website until 30 September 2025, and on general sale after this date. 2.1 Flying Solo by Tajinder Singh Hayer Pilot Officer Mohinder Singh Johal is an RAF pilot on a sortie during World War Two. Following a close encounter with a flying blue telephone box, his Spitfire vanishes! The Doctor, whose TARDIS is out of control following a blast from a time disruptor, should be keeping a low profile, but with Mohinder lost in time and space, she has to help bring him home. 2.2 The Junkyard Loop by Aaron Douglas The Doctor, pursued as ever by Cosmogon, crash-lands the TARDIS on an off-grid junk planet littered with the remains of time machines from a thousand civilisations. After being saved from the indigenous Time-Frost Parasites by Sodalis, an old companion long-marooned, the Doctor must come up with a plan to save them both. But a sinister Division commander has tracked our heroes, and not even Cosmogon can stand between him and his desire to unlock the Doctor's memory and obtain the secrets within. 2.3 Hereafter by Tim Foley Cosmo has finally captured the Doctor! But they're stranded together on a planet thanks to an unusual psychic forcefield grounding her ship. Tracing its source, they find a settlement that’s preparing for a festival in honour of their 'queen' in the mountain. When Cosmo is captured, the Doctor must decide whether to help her captor... especially now she's discovered, thanks to local woman Herma, that the queen and her minions are vampires! **Please note: the collector's edition CD box set is strictly limited to 1,000 copies**

TDP 1381: Smith & Sullivan: Reunited worlds of #DoctorWho from @Bigfinish REVIEW
Tin Dog PodcastSarah Jane Smith: investigative journalist; Dr Harry Sullivan: UNIT operative. Together, they journeyed to the stars with the Doctor. But when the adventures end, what can they do? Find more... Reunited in the chaos of 1980s London, Sarah and Harry find danger and darkness lurking beneath the metropolitan veneer of wealth and technology. With trusty super-computer K9 and the brilliant Lavinia Smith alongside, new adventures are just beginning... 1. The Caller by Tim Foley As the government prepares to sell off the telecommunications network to the highest bidder, including Starling Industries, Sarah investigates a spate of unexplained deaths in phone boxes across the capital. Elsewhere, Harry is vetting the bidding companies on behalf of UNIT, delighted when the assignment converges with his old friend - and her robot dog! Sarah and Harry realise they are investigating the same thing - why is government minister Sir Gordon Carmichael covering up the ‘phone box murders’, and what alien power is Violet Starling preparing to unleash? 2. Union of the Snake by Roland Moore Self-made millionaire Eric Chen inexplicably went from working in a sawmill to designing a revolutionary computer chip that has made billions. He had no training or education in electronics. How did he do it? His new PA - Sarah Jane Smith - is determined to find the answer. 3. Blood Type by Simon Guerrier Busier than ever, Sarah has little time to write up her cases for publications. But taking shortcuts risks making mistakes, as a journalist and as an investigator. When an old adversary reappears, the pressure reaches boiling point. Can Sarah rely on her closest friends in this crisis?

Podcastica Episode 348: The Moonbase OR Stupid Earth Brains
PodcasticaThis time we continue our escape into Classic Doctor Who with the 2nd Doctor adventure The Moonbase! One half animated, one half live action, we find ourselves on the moon in 2070 where a single base with a single Graviton beam is somehow controlling all the weather on Earth! This definitely feels like a situation where redundancies would have been helpful. But the Cybermen are back and poisoning sugar in order to take over the base and let Earth's weather go wacky and kill us all. Yeah, that seems like a strange plan, but at least the Cybermen know that we all love sugar way too much!

INTERVIEW: Doctor Who Myths and Legends: The Reeltime Pictures Story
The Doctor Who ShowOver the past five years, friend of the podcast Dylan Rees has worked at compiling the complete story of Reeltime Pictures, from the earliest days of its acclaimed Myth Makers interview tapes, through to the production of ambitious dramas and documentaries.
The resulting book tells the story of Keith Barnfather’s passion and dedication to develop a valuable archive of material - starting in the days of VHS through to DVD, Blu-ray, streaming and downloads - which chronicles the complete production history of classic Doctor Who.
In tonight's episode Dylan sits down with Rob to discuss the book; what inspired it, what it was like to write, and even where a complete newbie to Reeltime could start with the archive.
The book will be launched at the Whooverville 16 Convention on 30 August 2025 in Derby, UK.

Her early life as Mels where she slowly guided her parents to be together. The later years as both an Archeologist and Doctor. And her life with three regenerations of The Doctor (or is it four?).
Episode order;
-The Almost People (worth mentioning the idea of Gangers) – Amy is pregnant but not with Team Tardis
-A Christmas Carol – Amy and Rory’s honeymoon
-The Big Bang – the wedding of Amy and Rory 2010
-A Good Man Goes to War – Melody born on Demon’s Run, taken to an orphanage with Renfrew
-The Impossible Astronaut – toddler in spacesuit 1969
-Day of the Moon – we see young Melody in the orphanage, first time she kisses the Doctor (POV), she was left in NY and got sick, at the end toddler regenerates, finds her way back to the UK
-Let’s Kill Hitler – Mels in school then regenerates into the River we know, the Doctor gives her the Tardis diary
-Closing Time – put River in the astronaut suit, trained by the Silence to kill the Doctor
-The Wedding of River Song – she can’t kill the Doctor so time gets messed up and everything happens at once, marries the Doctor and learns his name (but he really tells her he faked his own death)
-A Good Man Goes to War (again) – telling Amy and Rory who she is
-The Impossible Astronaut – at the end River wants to study archeology at the Luna University 5123
-The Pandorica Opens – River gets the vortex manipulator from Dorium, gets the Van Gogh painting, and writing the coordinates into a cliff at the dawn of time
-The Big Bang – River appears after the wedding to the Doctor before Amy and Rory get into the Tardis. Gives Amy the diary so she could remember the Doctor back into existence
-The Time of Angels – 51st century, says she has pictures of all your faces
-Flesh and Stone
-The Wedding of River Song (again for the tea chat) – Rivers just left the Byzantium
-The Angels Take Manhattan – she was pardoned from prison because the Doctor erased himself from every record
-The Husbands of River Song – 24 years is 1 night on Dyrilium, she gets the screwdriver
-Silence in the Library – mentions the Byzantium

Who's He? Podcast 513 | In a world of persecution that is burning in its greed
Who's He?In this episode of the Who's He? Podcast....
Review - The Evil of The Daleks
In this podcast continuing Troughton Month, Phil, Paul and Scott provide their thoughts on the differing novelisations of The Evil of The Daleks, one written by John Peel and the other written by Frazer Hines.
But is this really the best Doctor Who story as was voted for during the shows 30th anniversary year, or is it a long winded story, bloated with too many characters that serve no purpose other than to be Dalek fodder? Listen to find out what they thought as they discuss the differences between the written and visual versions and will Paul wearing no trousers really help matters?

In the Timelash #15 - Si Hart
On the Time Lash"Have we learned nothing from Torchwood?"
Mark is joined by Si Hart, host of The Library of Impossible Things, who submits his five choices for the tinsel tunnel. It's a wide-ranging discussion that often comes back to reminding us what it is to be a child watching Doctor Who.
Under discussion: "Dark" Doctor Who, dodgy tea towels, Tom Baker being all teeth and no curls, the weakest story in season 13, and much more.
Also: Who put Ncuti Gatwa in a hydraulic press? And what has Si got against Prentis Hancock?
You can see the boxed set that Mark and Si are talking about here.
The squashed Ncuti Gatwa can be bought here.
