#169 - The Key to Tamm
Doctor Who: The Metebelis 2We discuss season 16, the Key to Time, where for David, Doctor Who mingles freely with Dungeons & Dragons. Ben explains how writing a season arc always seems easier than it is and that it's important to know how the arc will conclude before running out of money. David explains why he believes Philip Madoc was not miscast in The Power of Kroll and Ben wishes that the production team of Graham Williams and Tony Read had done a better job of crafting stories for Mary Tamm so she would have stayed for season 17. Opening music is Dick Mill's sound scape for the "White Guardian's Windbells". Closing music is from "The Stones of Blood" soundtrack composed by the Dudley Simpson. This episode was recorded 15 August 2020.

Episode 203: The Claws of Axos OR The Great Space Sphincter
PodcasticaWe're back in bonkers territory this week with possibly the most 70s episode we've ever reviewed! THE CLAWS OF AXOS starts as a typical aliens-land-on-earth-to-recharge-their-batteries story and quickly evolves into an attempt by The Master to get his TARDIS back by serving up the planet to a race of golden-haired shapeshifters bent on consuming the Earth. Some of the most LSD-inspired psychedelic craziness is infused throughout and we find our proto-Duggan in the form of dangerous American Bill Filer! It's a wild ride from start to finish, so join us for The Claws of Axos!!

309: Lawn and Order (Random Shoes)
Trust Your DoctorZoom zoom look at my lawn mower.
There’s a notably small amount of discussion of Torchwood in this episode. I’m not really sure why. Maybe it’s because the episode was boring as hell. No really, it was really boring! And Eugene wasn’t really that sympathetic, he’s a stalker! Well anyway. It’s Random Shoes, written by Jacquetta May and aired on December 10, 2006.

98.1 Never Watched Game of Thrones
On the Time LashBen and Mark begin a two part episode all about the price of immortality with a discussion of 'The Girl Who Died' and 'The Woman Who Lived'. Did the Doctor know Ashildr would die? Isn't it fine to just sometimes cast the same actors again in larger roles and never refer to it? Is Maisie Williams any better in 'Game of Thrones'? We've never watched it. Is the Me character nothing more than an obfuscating Hybrid red herring? Also: Gallows humour, living through the violent establishment of European society, comedy and flippancy in Doctor Who and two exciting rounds of Degsey's Where Did it Come? Game. WARNING: MAY CONTAIN STAR TREK
