The Oncoming Storm Ep 210: NA Retrospective and Goodbyes
The Oncoming StormWell, here we are. Almost 6 years and over 200 episodes later, it's time for the final (for now?) episode of The Oncoming Storm. Even though All Good Things must come to an end, Josh, Ashley, Jeff, and Rachel are here to take you through episode 210, and its not without a few choked words. But before all of that, there's the final news segment covering all of the excitement of the last month, and the feature segment with everyone talks about what they feel about the New Adventures over all, and everyone runs down their top 5 New Adventures! The required Doctor Who content finished, the last hour of this deluxe sized episode is devoted to a bunch of self indulgent reminiscing, thank yous, and farewells. Feelings are expressed, tears are shed, and we really won't blame you if you turn off the show before it gets to that... don't say we didn't warn you! The Oncoming Storm... This last time, we've got nothing but love for everyone who's listened over the years. Thank you all for being a part of our journey.

Two Whos and a Lie! (Live from L.I. Who 5)
Gallifrey Public Radio - A Doctor Who PodcastAs expected, the weekend spent in Long Island with a few thousand good-natured and excitable Whovians was a whirlwind of laughter, surprises, fascination, and even dancing (yes, that was Barnaby Edwards leading what could only be described as “The Dance Floor Revolution of the Daleks”). This week, we […]

TDP 722: Main Range 231 - The Middle #DoctorWho from @BigFinish
Tin Dog Podcast@TinDogPodcast reviews 722: #Main Range 231 - The Middle #DoctorWho from @BigFinish Synopsis This title was released in November 2017. It will be exclusively available to buy from the BF website until December 31st 2017, and on general sale after this date. "10/10 This enjoyable yarn is high concept sci-fi at its best. The piece is a clever and topical commentary on age and its role in society...The Middle is a beautifully paced, thought-provoking and enjoyable piece of high concept science fiction. Definitely worth a listen if you're a fan of hard Sci-Fi and enjoy the Sixth Doctor. Just remember...the End is the Beginning..." Blogtor Who "This is a great 'fun-house mirror' for our modern society on one hand, whilst a marvellous sci-fi bit of escapism on the other." Indie Mac User It's L/Wren Mrs Constance Clarke's birthday - and Flip is determined to make it an anniversary to remember. The futuristic colony of Formicia, where the pampered populace pass their days in endless leisure, seems the perfect place for a 'Wren Party'. But all is not as it seems. Looking down from the Middle, the skyscraping tower that ascends as far as the colony ceiling, Formicia's overseers can see that the Doctor doesn't fit in - and it's not just his coat that makes him conspicuous... "The End is the Beginning," say the propaganda-like posters all over Formicia. Because to be part of this perfect society comes at a price. And the Doctor's already in arrears. Written By: Chris Chapman Directed By: Jamie Anderson Cast Colin Baker (The Doctor), Lisa Greenwood (Flip Jackson), Miranda Raison (Mrs Constance Clarke), Mark Heap (The Middleman), Sheila Reid (Janaiya), Wayne Forester (Roman), Hollie Sullivan (Olivia York), Chloe Rickenbach (Chloe). Other parts played by members of the cast. Producer David Richardson Script Editor Alan Barnes Executive Producers Jason Haigh-Ellery and Nicholas Briggs

099: Black Orchid
The Krynoid Podcast"A delightfully unexpected afternoon."
Well it won't take up much of your afternoon and there's very little that's unexpected here.
For this is Black Orchid - a ripping yarn of bronchial brothers, lippy bookworms, smutty absentees and a child bride who's passed around like a gold ball at a Telosian rugby match.
The Doctor plays the clown, Tegan cuts a rug, Nyssa finds her double and Adric eats double his body weight in finger food.
But who is the tweed-trousered killer who's friends with an Amazonian Indian?
Could he possibly have any connection with Charles "not one of the Worcester Woosters" Cranleigh whose brother disappeared on an Amazonian expedition?
And who is the piratical prat with the badge for mathematical excellence?
Listen to find out...

Episode 174: No More Petes, Just Howard
Trust Your DoctorEverybody loves Howard, the new show from the BBC.
As it turns out, the best day to invade Earth is Christmas Day, 2006, when it just so happened the Doctor was totally out of commission. If the Sycorax had just showed up like 4 hours earlier they probably would have totally succeeded. It’s The Christmas Invasion, written by Russell T. Davies, and aired on December 25, 2005.
Show-notes:
10:06 Might as well link this again.
11:25 They’re actually called Roboforms and the Doctor says they behave like pilot fish.
12:40 Yeah, dogs can get hairballs. So wolves probably can too.
14:51 Apparently some people take shark cartilage as a supplement.
19:02 Whiplash from Iron Man 2. He’s not original to the movie obviously. He was created for comics.
22:42 I honestly don’t know if I believe this site or not, but according to it about 34% of people have A+ blood. That means A+ is the second most common blood type after O+. No idea about the royal family, but I did find out they’re Rh negative, which means they don’t have the Rh factor, whatever that is.
26:48 Yeah I am just making that up.
40:23 Controls emotions.
40:55 Immortal jellyfish, aka turritopsis dohrnii. This thing is creepy.
47:34 In regards to sexism in politics, the first episode of Revisionist History does a good job of summing it up. Here’s a Huffington Post article about it.
49:12 Song for 10. I think this is the version heard in this episode.
52:58 Thanks Radio Times.

You and Who Talking 029
The Doctor Who ShowWhat you are about to hear is the story of a connection, a connection that was made between a television series and a viewer's life.
The You and Who books are the story of that connection, as told by the people who watch the programmes that make us come alive. Chiefly, of course, Doctor Who.
This podcast will relate some of the stories from those books... and beyond.
In this episode:
The Magic Dragon - Doctor Who and the Crusaders written and read by Stephen Hatcher
With an introduction featuring Rob Irwin talking to JR Southall.
The You and Who books, from which all royalties are paid to charity, are available in print and for Kindle, from watchingbooks.weebly.com
