S'in a giant clam
Who's He?In the first podcast of 2018, Phil and Paul turn their attentions to the written word with the Target novelisation of Genesis of the Daleks by Terrance Dicks. In this classic story of the Daleks creation, the lads find much to enjoy but does the fact the TV story is so iconic, it ruins this book? While the pair of them to try to wrestle with this weighty topic, Paul takes it upon himself to ruin this classic story for everyone!
And in the news this week, a few morsels of information for series 11, a narrowly avoided legal dispute involving the name Lethbridge-Stewart, we say goodbye to David Fisher and Bella Emberg and to round things off, an unwelcome trip to Omega's Stats Corner!

101: Delta and the Bannermen
The Krynoid Podcast"Let's make this baby fly!"
Said the uncool and un-Welsh Welsh rock 'n' roller Billy, who refrains (perhaps disappointingly) from drop-kicking the Chimeron child over the Shangri-La camp's Olympic size swimming pool.
Yes, it's time to take a look at the distinctly odd Delta and the Bannermen, a tale of a baffling bee-keeper, unnecessary Americans, a shot-down stand-up and life-size plastic soldiers with lockjaw.
When will Ray realise that she's barking up the wrong tree? When will Billy realise he's sniffing around the wrong species? Will the Bannermen have a whip round to get Gavrok a barbecue? And can the Flying Pickets achieve further chart success now their leader has been reduced to smoking footwear?
Don't expect to find the answers here as Jim and Martin struggle to decide whether to mark the story hi-de-high or hi-de-low.

MUTTER’S SPIRAL Podcast 151 - Capaldi Era Review, Part 1
Mutter's Spiral PodcastMUTTER'S SPIRAL Podcast is back, and we are talking about the PETER CAPALDI Era of Doctor Who! It's the first part of our deep dive into the time when the Doctor was him. On this week's episode, we do a broad overview, then we dive into ranking his 3 seasons and why (John does a good job of changing my mind in the process). We then give our own personal top 5 episodes (or 6 in my case, plus, i cheat again and intentionally don't list what i think is the best, just because I know John will pick it, too). It's 90 minutes of Talkin' Who!
Next week, we'll dive into some other favorite episodes, missed opportunities, favorite characters and monsters, and anything else we can think of!
We had a lot of fun recording this and discussing the greatness that is Peter Capaldi and the awesomeness of his Doctor. We hope you enjoy it!

Lazy Doctor WhoKK (4-6)
Steven and Erika finish off “The Faceless Ones” (and thus, Ben and Polly’s tenure on Doctor Who) in one fell swoop. It may not be the best goodbye, but at least they get one—and it’s after a delightful story, so all in all, could be worse.

TDP 739: New Counter Measures Vol2 from @BigFinish
Tin Dog PodcastA Simply Brilliant slice of the 1970s that never were... 1. The Splintered Man by Roland Moore When a Spanish scientist kills himself in an explosion at a secret test facility, Counter-Measures are called in to salvage anything they can from the wreckage. But someone else is stalking the scene - and they're determined that whatever is lost will stay lost. As Rachel is reunited with an old flame, she finds herself drawn into the heart of a mystery. What exactly was Doctor Javier Santos working on? And who exactly is trying to prevent its discovery? 2. The Ship of the Sleepwalkers by Christopher Hatherall The Counter-Measures team wake on a luxury cruise, with no knowledge of how and when they got onboard. Who has brought them here, and why? As their investigations deepen, they find themselves in the middle of an international conspiracy, with enemies on both sides. How can they escape when they can't even trust each other? 3. My Enemy's Enemy by Robert Khan and Tom Salinsky Glamorous international arms dealer, Lady Suzanne Clare, has come to town and is offering herself into the hands of Counter-Measures. The price: her own safety. But can their former nemesis ever really be trusted? With one of their own side seemingly working for the enemy, the race is on to prevent a disaster. But who are they really fighting? And what does Lady Clare really want? 4. Time of the Intelligence by Andy Frankham-Allen A strange voice is interrupting TV broadcasts across the capital, and bear-like creatures are raiding factories, stealing equipment and killing guards. The Great Intelligence and his army of Yeti have returned. And there's only one team that can stop them. Familiar with their foe, Sir Toby calls on the help of Edward Travers to defeat the menace. But without the Doctor to help them, can the Intelligence ever be stopped? Best Space Friend Chad
Doctor WhoochIn which we say good-bye... and good riddance.
Danica and Brandon are back to finally give their tipsy opinions on "Twice Upon A Time", the final Moffat era Doctor Who episode. And while it ALSO sadly marks the end of Peter Capaldi's time as the Doctor, they pull no punches.
And sure, some might say we should have put this episode out before now, but here at Doctor Whooch, we like our takes like we like our drinks: on ice.
So there.
