#251 - A Real Mother
Doctor Who: The Metebelis 2An entertaining enough finale, but with big enough plot holes that you could drive a pyramid through. Something went wrong with this season in more ways than one and with Empire of Death, Davies seemed oblivious and tone death to some of the underlying messages his drama was sending. Basically, nothing in it really makes sense, and many of the story's emotional beats were insensitive or unearned. The opening music is from the soundtrack composed by Murray Gold. The closing music is Johnny "Guitar" Wilson's 1977 song "A Real Mother For Ya". We recorded this episode on 25 June 2024.

Season One (2024) Wrap Show
The Doctor Who ShowAs is traditional after we do a season of hot takes on the podcast, we regroup to discuss the season as a whole. Did some episodes go up or down in our estimation, after the initial hot take viewing? What did the rest of fandom think? How do we feel it went overall? Featuring fantastic contributions from our listeners via X, Facebook, email, Instant Messenger, carrier pigeon, our website, and more, this is our definitive - for now - take on Ncuti Gatwa's first season as the Doctor.
Before then, news from the past month including our thoughts - and the BBCs - on Doctor Who ratings, as well as saying goodbye to legend of the show, William Russell. We also catch up with some classic Doctor Who in the form of the Celestial Toymaker animation, and a re-watch of The Ark. And Rob's really selling off his Doctor Who collection in earnest!

Episode 116 - The Space Museum (Conrad Westmaas; David Barsky)
Doctor Who LiteratureWe open at the BFI in London where Conrad Westmaas from Big Finish appears live on the show to interview Jason!
David Barsky then joins Jason by Skype from Los Angeles to rap about The Space Museum, and to vigorously debate the most recent Disney+-streamed season of Doctor Who.
In the audio essay, Jason compares all four extant versions of Space Museum: TV, novelization, and both surviving scripts. With comparisons to the music of Elvis Costello.

No More F*cks To Give
WHO 37 - A Doctor Who PodcastIt’s been a good four years, but it’s time for this journey to end. JB, Chris and Sean see the current series of “Disney Who” off with a lengthy and rant-filled discussion of “Dot and Bubble”, “Rogue”, “The Legend of Ruby Sunday”, and “Empire of Death”. The podcast will come back now and then with one-off episodes, but this is pretty much the end of the line as far as monthly episodes. But don’t fret, because the fearless three have plans to record a new podcast which will be coming soon to an RSS feed near you. Thank you all for listening.
