Who's He? Podcast 490 | You'll have to claw your way through his disguise
Who's He?In this episode of the Who's He? Podcast....
Review - The Claws of Axos
This time, Phil and Paul look at The Claws of Axos, starring Jon Pertwee as the Doctor and Katy Manning as Jo Grant. Written for television by Bob Baker and Dave Martin and adapted by Terrance Dicks for the Target novelisation, bumbling government ministers with delusions of grandeur, CIA agents with pleasantly ugly faces and a shrill musical score is the order of the day. So listen as our reviewing pair compare the television and book versions.
They also take the opportunity to celebrate 20 years of Doctor Who returning to our screens.
We also apologise for some sound problems during this recording, it was one hell of a night!
You can currently find us on X, Threads, Mastodon, Bluesky and Facebook. Don't miss an episode by subscribing to our show on Apple Podcasts/iTunes, Spotify, Amazon Podcasts, plus many other podcatchers of your choice.

#262 - The Seducer
Doctor Who: The Metebelis 2Ben spills the beans on this year's Gallifrey convention. Has Ben turned 180° on his thoughts on Steven Moffat? Listen, and you be the judge. This episode was recorded right after the con closed, but due to real life getting in the way, the podcast took a bit of time to get produced. Better late than never, we hope? We recorded this podcast on 19 February 2025. Opening and closing music is from "Santa Monica" by Everclear.

DIDDLY DUM PODCAST 211 – Capitol Cutaway
Diddly Dum Podcast
We’re joined by Tony Jordan of the DWAS to look forward to next weekend’s “Capitol Cutaway” convention on 6th April. Along the way, Mark hits his 150th podcast and the Rev overtakes Doc in far more important stakes.
We can also be found on the Doctor Who Podcast Alliance
Find Diddly Dum pics on Tumblr.
Email us at diddlydumpodcast@yahoo.co.uk
SHOW NOTES
(00:20:18) “Better drowned than duffers if not duffers won’t drown” is a telegram sent to the children in “Swallows and Amazons” from their Royal Navy father. There is deliberately no comma between “if” and “not”.
(00:30:45) Alternatively known as The Roman Baths, the open-air (filtered sea water) swimming pools at Lytham St Anne’s were opened in the early 1900s and closed down in the mid-1980s.
(00:36:23) Simon Groom was a presenter of BBC TV children’s programme “Blue Peter” from 1978 to 1986. Groom became known among the programme’s production team for his dry humour and ability to ad lib innuendo in his broadcasting (which would pass over the heads of the programme’s main audience of children). One such statement was at the end of a piece on a replacement door knocker at Durham Cathedral, declaring “what a beautiful pair of knockers”. Another remark followed a piece about hedge maintenance, in which he closed with the remark, “As long as you have a decent length to start with, well then you can manage a good lay”, much to the irritation of producer Biddy Baxter.
The Diddly Dum Podcast acknowledges the copyright of anyone we’ve pinched anything from.

TDP 1349: 2. VAM PD Volume 02 REVIEW #Bigfinish
Tin Dog PodcastVampires live their lives by rules - but who polices them? Welcome to the Office of the Night, where vampires Catrin and Magnus keep an uneasy peace between the living and the undead. 2.1 The Last Post by Rochana Patel and David Smith Oleanna wakes up to find she's posted a photo of a breakfast she didn't have. Worse, she's locked out of all her social media accounts. And then a vampire appears at her door and tells her she's going to die today. Cleaning up after victims is an unglamorous job that the Office of the Night has long outsourced - this used to just be bills and faked suicide letters, but the group has gone rogue and is now arranging the deaths of people who aren’t even dead yet. 2.2 Sunlight and Bleach by Aaron Lamont He's been investigating a corrupt deal between the government and vampires. Can such a thing even exist? Are vampires even real? What is going on? One man sets out to expose the Office of the Night. It's time to shine a little light on this grubby deal. The problem is that vampires don't like the sunlight. 2.3 Dracula Bachelor by Ash Darby Sometimes killing is easy. Never underestimate human vanity and stupidity. People will always sign up for a reality TV show. Especially one that offers the winner immortality. Of course, there's always a catch. If this show is so successful, why has no-one ever seen it? Note: This production features scenes of vampiric feeding and blood consumption.
