The Oncoming Storm Ep 102: Steve Moore Retrospective - Soulful Cybermen and Magic Aliens
The Oncoming StormOn March 16th 2014, the world of Doctor Who Spin Off Media lost one if its original pioneers. Steve Moore was one of the first writers to write the Doctor Who comic strips for Doctor Who Weekly. While Doctor Who comic strips were nothing new, the Doctor Who Weekly strips were some of the first serious attempts to write stories that fit into the ongoing continuity of the television show and was written for a more sophisticated audience. The infulence of the material written by Steve Moore cannot be ignored, and he created several fan favorite characters that added to the expanding universe of Doctor Who. In episode 102 of The Oncoming Storm, join Josh and guests Jeff Polier and Alan Siler as they discuss two of Steve Moore's early Doctor Who stories, including the genesis of one of Steve Moore's biggest contributions to Doctor Who, Kroton the Cyberman with a soul! Also, there's a story about an alien witch. It's as crazy as it sounds. The Oncoming Storm... this time, we've got Meltron! He's awesome. And I'm pretty sure he could beat you to death with his turkey leg.

PODCAST 010 - DATE WITH THE DEVIL
Diddly Dum PodcastThis week, the Three Who Drool return to their first port of call in their epic pub crawl of drinking establishments famous in Doctor Who lore – The Cloven Hoof in the village of Devil’s End – scene of the classic Third Doctor story “The Daemons”.
April 30th has passed into May Day and, to celebrate Beltaine, the greatest occult festival of the year (bar Halloween), the Diddly Dumbers join the villagers in performing an ancient fertility dance around the Maypole before retiring, exhausted but more fertile, to the bar to discuss three stories featuring the Devil or Devil worship – The Daemons, K9 & Company (A Girl’s Best Friend) and the double bill of The Impossible Planet/The Satan Pit.
In which we find Al rubbin’ a hooded man, Doc slipping briefly into his alter ego of Bob Holness and the Rev winning the grand prize by completing his third Gold Run.

Who's He? Podcast #237 Grey mists drift upon the water
Who's He?In this episode of the Who's He? Podcast, Phil and Paul return once again to the written word of Target with a look at Doctor Who and The Loch Ness Monster by Terrance Dicks. Based on Terror of The Zygons, a classic of Doctor who, Phil and Paul critique the changes made between screen and book and does it also add up to be a classic in written form also?
Also this week, Phil talks to composer and DJ Dominic Glynn who most of you should know rearranged the Doctor Who theme for season 23. Amongst other things, Dominic talks of his time working on the show and who and what inspired him to become a composer. Don't miss it!
And in the news, Peter Capaldi on series 11, the passing of another Who actor and in Omega's Tat Corner, some tat that is strangely familiar.

The PodKast Asks: What Would Your Doctor Wear?
Kasterborous PodkastChristian Cawley is a writer at Kasterborous Doctor Who News and Reviews - All the latest Doctor Who news and reviews with our weekly podKast, features and interviews, and a long-running forum.
It’s podKast time, and this week we have a nice long chat about the various looks that the Doctor has had over the years and ask: what would you wear?Faced with the prospect of chatting about a heckuva lot of Doctor Who news, Christian Cawley and James McLean cope admirably with the onslaught of interesting talking points with their usual irreverence and insight before getting stuck into the issue of time travelling attire in the classic and modern series.
With no Brian Terranova this time around, you’ll probably find that on this occasion his absence is almost unnoticed. After all, it’s a topic that he might have ended up dominating, what with his cosplay tendencies…
Listen out for lots of talk about Jon Pertwee’s waistcoat, Peter Capaldi’s real-life attire and Matt Smith and Benedict Cumberbatch denying interest in each other’s shows. Oh and the recommendations are pretty good too!
Kasterborous PodKast Series 4 Episode 12 Shownotes
- Last week’s podKast – Rise vs Revenge of the Cybermen
- British Pathe newsreels uploaded to YouTube
- Jon Pertwee – Waistcoateer!
- Matt Smith says “no” to Sherlock
- Benedict Cumberbatch says “no” to Doctor Who
- Batman vs Judge Dredd

- Recommendations:
- Craft BAFTA win for 50th anniversary shows
The Kasterborous PodKast theme tune is arranged by Russell Hugo. Theme tunes are cool. Meanwhile, the artwork you see above is Lee Sullivan’s superb “Usual Suspects”.
Listen to the PodKast
There are several ways to listen. In addition to the usual player above, we're pleased to announce that you can also stream the podKast using Stitcher, an award-winning, free mobile app available for Android and iPhone/iPad. Doctor Whooch // Episode 023 // Misandry!
Doctor WhoochIn which Danica is a pirate.
During this week's episode, your intrepid hosts delve deeper into Torchwood with the Series One episodes "Small Worlds" and "Greeks Bearing Gifts", skipping "Countryside" for Brandon to experience another day. Also, Danica punches Brandon a few times, and things start happening that probably involve neighbours, and not ghosts. Probably. Hopefully.

106 - Terror of the Accents
Doctor Who: Verity! After last week's delightful interview with Katy Manning, we thought it a perfect time to cover Jo Grant's first outing. Join Deb, Katrina, Liz, Lynne, and Tansy as they discuss"Terror of the Autons", which was not only Jo's first story, but the Master's, as well as what many call the first real "UNIT family" story. Some even argue it's the genesis of a budding romance between the Master and the Doctor...
Tansy is on Valium, Liz forgets her intro, and Kat gets to talk about punk rock. A good time is had by all! And of course, it wouldn't be a Verity! ep if the Verities didn't take a sweet tangent into social issues. This time it's an examination of accents and the class systems of various countries.

Probably. Hopefully.
