A podKast with a Kerb Krawl
Kasterborous PodkastChristian Cawley is a writer at Kasterborous Doctor Who News and Reviews - All the latest Doctor Who news and reviews with our weekly podKast, features and interviews, and a long-running forum.
It’s probably fair to say that this has been one of the podKast (with a “K”)’s oddest weeks.Disrupted by deadlines on the original recording date of Monday, Christian was unable to take part. “No problem,” thought he, “my colleagues James and Brian are more than able to cope with the technicalities of recording a Skype call and uploading it to Google Drive.”
That, listener, was his first mistake.
So we opted to record live on Thursday evening instead, using Google Hangouts. Although a podKast was “recorded” on Monday, it wasn’t actually recorded, something that James and Brian were naturally somewhat unhappy about. So this second attempt was a way for them to try and recall the best bits with Christian also offering his own thoughts and experiences of the week of Doctor Who.
Which brings us to the other odd moment, the one that can only be accurately related by you clicking play and watching or listening to this week’s podKast, where we learn that mild-mannered Kasterborous editor Christian Cawley was mistaken for someone “looking for a good time” outside the BBC Tees building in Middlesbrough.
(Thanks to DocWhom for inspiration with this week’s title and image…)
Click play above to watch. If you prefer the audio version it is available via the player below:

Listen to the PodKast
There are several ways to listen. In addition to the usual player above, we're pleased to announce that you can also stream the podKast using Stitcher, an award-winning, free mobile app available for Android and iPhone/iPad. This pretty much means that you can listen to us anywhere without downloading - pretty neat, we think you'll agree! (Note that it can take a few hours after a new podKast is published to "catch up".)
What’s more, you can now listen and subscribe to the podKast via our Audioboo channel! Head to http://audioboo.fm/channel/doctorwhopodkast and click play to start listening. You can also comment and record your own boos in response to our discussions!
Meanwhile you can use the player below to listen through Audioboo:
You haven't clicked play yet?! What are you waiting for? As well as our new Stitcher and Audioboo presence you can also use one of these amazingly convenient ways to download and enjoy this week's podKast.
- Use the player in the top right of the Kasterborous home page, or visit the podKast menu link.
- Listen with the "pop out" player above, which also allows you to download the podKast to your computer.
- You can also take advantage of the RSS feed to subscribe to the podKast for your media player, and even find us on iTunes!
Incidentally, if you are listening on iTunes, please take the time to leave a rating and review and help us to bring in new listeners to the podKast!

Episode 176: Boiling Water is Hot
Trust Your DoctorHot is a relative term though, maybe it’s actually cold.
I’m going to need you to call a doctor as soon as possible. I don’t care which one, it’s just, I’ve been bitten by this werewolf, and I really don’t know what to do. I’m starting to feel a bit woozy, so if you could hurry up. I’ll be in the hospital here, watching Tooth and Claw, written by Russell T. Davies. As I’m told it originally aired on April 22, 2006.
Show-notes:
18:52 But did she really say “We are not amused?” Radio Times has the answers we’re all looking for. Or not.
23:12 Like we mentioned, it’s the Kohinoor, which is the largest of the Crown Jewels.
26:06 Yeah, believe it or not, dogs actually can get hairballs.
28:53 You don’t get a a picture of it, but this article talks about how the Death Star’s lasers wouldn’t work if it were real.
32:05 This is actually disputed for some reason, but the Australian government says January 1, 1901, so I guess I’ll go with that.
33:55 12 nautical miles.

Episode 130 Always Dress for the Commentary
Flight Through Entirety: A Doctor Who PodcastThis week, we're celebrating the end of another tiresome millennium: Brendan's dressed as Madam Butterfly, Nathan's mooching about in the morgue as usual, Todd's going on about his boots for some reason, and Richard has made a terrible mess in the Console Room. It's the 1996 TV Movie!
Well, that's democracy for you
There's still plenty of time for you to vote for a story for us to cover in our upcoming Sylvester McCoy commentary podcast episode. No rush though. You can probably afford to worry about it later.
Buy the story!
This one's quite complicated. The TV Movie was one of the first stories to get a DVD release, way back in 2001, in the UK only. It finally got a Special Edition release in 2010/2011 (Amazon US) (Amazon UK). This release was also part of the Revisitations 1 Box Set, along with The Talons of Weng-Chiang and The Caves of Androzani, only available in Australia and the UK (Amazon UK). An upscaled Blu-ray version was released in 2016 in the UK only (Amazon UK).
Notes and links
We don't plan to cover fan favourite Dimensions in Time, which was a one-off Doctor Who/EastEnders crossover broadcast on BBC1 in November 1993, as part of Children in Need. However, Brendan says you'll enjoy this version, which includes production notes by Andrew Orton.
Friend-of-the-podcast Gary Russell wrote the novelisation of this story, published in 1996, written before Gary got to see the actual episode and available in bookshops before the audience had either. It is now, sadly, out of print. You can read some of Gary's thoughts about the novelisation here.

We're also on Facebook, and you can check out our website at flightthroughentirety.com. Please consider rating or reviewing us on iTunes, or we'll relaunch the podcast as an ill-fated series of remakes of previous episodes featuring American actors in major roles and including a number of inept Star-Trek-inspired continuity errors.
Bondfinger
Over on Bondfinger, we're all set to release our final Broscast next weekend -- Die Another Day (2002). While you're waiting for that to drop, why not listen to our three previous Brosnan commentaries, or one of our commentaries on the Timothy Dalton films.
We also have plenty of Rodgecasts online, and there are other Bonds available, as well. Even fake ones.
You can keep up with all the Bondfinger news on Twitter and Facebook.

You and Who Talking 031
The Doctor Who ShowWhat you are about to hear is the story of a connection, a connection that was made between a television series and a viewer's life.
The You and Who books are the story of that connection, as told by the people who watch the programmes that make us come alive. Chiefly, of course, Doctor Who.
This podcast will relate some of the stories from those books... and beyond.
In this episode:
Girls and Boys and Doctor Who written and read by Terry Hayward
With an introduction featuring Rob Irwin talking to JR Southall.
The You and Who books, from which all royalties are paid to charity, are available in print and for Kindle, from watchingbooks.weebly.com

Doctor Whooch - Episode Fourteen is Wacky Hyjinxical
Doctor WhoochIn which there is also shenanigans and chicanery.
On this week's show, Brandon and Danica talk about things happening NOW! For the first time ever! They talk about "The Day of the Doctor" (which they saw live in theatre with a bunch of their friends), "The Five(ish) Doctors Reboot", and "An Adventure In Space And Time" - which we all delightful in their own way. They also get super tired, because they did all of that in one day, and rode a horse-and-cart. It was awesome.
Our podcast photo is by GIRL NAMED SHIRL Photography.
Outro music is "Return" by OK Go

Friend-of-the-podcast Gary Russell wrote the novelisation of this story, published in 1996, written before Gary got to see the actual episode and available in bookshops before the audience had either. It is now, sadly, out of print. You can read some of Gary’s thoughts about the novelisation here.

We’re also on Facebook, and you can check out our website at flightthroughentirety.com. Please consider rating or reviewing us on iTunes, or we’ll relaunch the podcast as an ill-fated series of remakes of previous episodes featuring American actors in major roles and including a number of inept Star-Trek-inspired continuity errors.
Bondfinger
Over on Bondfinger, we’re all set to release our final Broscast next weekend — Die Another Day (2002). While you’re waiting for that to drop, why not listen to our three previous Brosnan commentaries, or one of our commentaries on the Timothy Dalton films.
We also have plenty of Rodgecasts online, and there are other Bonds available, as well. Even fake ones.

Always Dress for the Commentary
Flight Through Entirety: A Doctor Who PodcastThis week, we’re celebrating the end of another tiresome millennium: Brendan’s dressed as Madam Butterfly, Nathan’s mooching about in the morgue as usual, Todd’s going on about his boots for some reason, and Richard has made a terrible mess in the Console Room. It’s the 1996 TV Movie!
Well, that’s democracy for you
There’s still plenty of time for you to vote for a story for us to cover in our upcoming Sylvester McCoy commentary podcast episode. No rush though. You can probably afford to worry about it later.
Buy the story!
This one’s quite complicated.

Outro music is "Return" by OK Go

Staggering Stories Commentary #205: Doctor Who - The Lie of the Land
Staggering Stories Podcast
Summary:Adam J Purcell, Andy Simpkins and Keith Dunn sit down, broadcasting, in front of the 2017 Doctor Who S10 episode, ‘The Lie of the Land’, and spout our usual nonsense!
The Doctor has become a TV presenter, Bill is still fixated on a dead woman and the Monks have given up on VR entirely. But enough of their problems, please sit down with us to enjoy The Lie of the Land...

The Doctor Who Show S02 E11 - Talking about regeneration
The Doctor Who ShowHello! With a regeneraton looming in December, Rob and Dave return here in our November 2017 episode to discuss each and every regeneration in Classic and Nu Who.
But before they do, there's a ton of news to work through. Some relating to Series 11 (potential spoilers) and some relating to Classic Who - like the new Five Doctors CD.
Dave's also watched The Dominators and gives some thoughts, while Rob responds to his Frontios challenge and, for bonus points, also watched The Green Death this month.
Feedback arrives for our Babylon 5 episode of 'Alternate Galaxies' (have you listened to that one yet?) and the guys skip through what else they're currently watching on TV.
Let them know your thoughts on the show at hello@theDWshow.net

Normal format from next week as we're looking at the 2007 Christmas Special - Voyage of the Damned. Until then have a great week and remember - Allons-y!
