Doctor Who - The High Council Episode 79, The Aztecs Part 3
Doctor Who - The High CouncilThis is not your everyday Classic Doctor Who Part 3. As Simon, Andrew and Josh embark on The Bride of Sacrifice, we all realize that the usual Part 3 run-around does not appear in The Aztecs, and we jump in with great excitement as the story does move forward significantly here.
That said, we all try out our Mexican accents Salamander style and while enjoying this episode, and do our level-best to imitate David Collings doing Vorus from Revenge of the Cybermen.
While The Doctor gets engaged to a woman 30 years his junior, we marvel at the great pensioner extras. Do join us for the banter! And is Greta Garbo dressing the actors for this??

Episode 222: This Is Where It Got Complicated
The Sonic ToolboxHere we review "The Doctor's Daughter". This is also the last recording before The Great Illness of The Fall of 2016. We're really grateful for your patience and support in our long absence from your feeds. Daisy was sick for almost 6 weeks with some unknown, non-deadly, annoying, cold/flu like ick and just didn't have the energy to edit and post. Then came the make up work for work, which again, took time away from this show. Life is finally getting back to mostly normal and Daisy is once again able to do her podcasterly job. We thank you for your support.

291: Invention Convention ft. JB Anderton (Spyfall)
Trust Your DoctorIt’s like a science fair but worse.
Weirdly enough there’s actually a new James Bond movie coming out this year. As in like, for the first time in 5 years there’s a James Bond movie coming to theatres. How do I know it was 5 years? Well because I took my dad for his birthday to see it, and it was a monumental age (no, I won’t tell you what it was though). It’s Spyfall written by Chris Chibnall and aired on January 1 and 5, 2020.
Show-notes:
13:12: The Doctor Who wiki surprisingly doesn’t have a page on left handedness. So instead here’s the page on dates.
22:30: Outside of G.I. Joe, Cobra is like an Austrian military police unit, an Indian police force, and a Serbian military police force.
24:04: It’s not pinned anymore because @Prof_Quiteamess deleted it ;_;
30:38: It was actually steganography. Stenography is something else. According to the Doctor wiki, steganography was only ever mentioned in this episode.
32:11: Here’s Lenny Henry playing the Doctor in 1985. I’ve actually seen this before, but I completely forgot about it.
1:08:30: Check out Triple Play: A Movie Trilogy Podcast, that podcast that we’re finally doing again.
1:14:36: Also check out our other podcasts Zenith: A Blake’s 7 Podcast and Inevitable: A Classic Sci-Fi Podcast.
1:39:20: This is just copied straight from the Doctor Who wiki: “Editing for the DVD release was completed by the Doctor Who Restoration Team. The most prominent of these edits is to the serial’s final scenes, when the freighter crashes into prehistoric earth. The edit mainly revises the scene so that, instead of the TARDIS’s monitor showing a still image of the freighter, followed by several bright flashes (meant to represent the explosion of the impact), the screen actually shows the freighter slamming into the Earth, with the explosion being represented by a pulsating light over the impact site.” This obviously has to do with the DVD release, which came out in like 2003 (so not exactly recently). But I think this might’ve been what people were discussing when it came to the blu ray.
2:16:52: Here’s the discussion that JB mentioned.
2:19:39: And of course just check out WHO 37 in general, and also check out BAT 77 too.

Episode 146: Bible of the Daleks
Trust Your DoctorYou know eventually they’ll make Bible of the Daleks because there’s only so many words you can use for ___ of the Daleks.
Here come the Daleks again. Is there some sort of unwritten pact that they have to appear for every doctor? Because they have so far. At least for us, I’m not counting the reboot (yet). It’s Revelation of the Daleks, written by Eric Saward and aired in March of 1985.
Show-notes:
7:56 The Star Wars Holiday Special, largely regarded as one of the best 3-course dinners of all time, was aired only once on November 17, 1978 B.C. Written, directed, produced, and baked to a golden brown by the artists formerly known as George Lucas and Jar Jar Binks, it has been made widely available in a number of different formats, such as VHS, Blu Ray, Laserdisc, pdf, and cereal box activity. You can check out the Holiday Special in all its glory here.
10:15 Greeks.
12:48 Nope.
19:13 Barrow just changed its name back to Utqiagvik.
20:20 According to this site, countries that list an indigenous American language as an official language are Bolivia, Guatemala, Paraguay, Peru, and Venezuela. It doesn’t list Greenland, but it’s one too, and there are probably more.
24:27 Yeah, looks pretty cool.
31:46 Apparently it took 5 years, but Terry Garrett completed Ocarina of Time completely blind. Here’s the full playlist of all his Zelda videos.
56:50 Uh… what.
