The bulk of this week's episode is devoted to "Chicks Unravel Time," edited by Deb Stanish and L.M. Myles, a follow-up by Mad Norwegian Press to the widely praised "Chicks Dig Time Lords." In this book, each writer tackled a different season of Classic Who, with sometimes surprising results! The editors of this weighty tome told Warren and Steven about the creation of the book, the wide range of voices in the book (from pros to first-time writers) and the big difference that a female perspective can have on interpretation of our favorite television program.

Oh yes, and some stats were mulled over at some point in the news segment. Last stats until Christmas, thank Omega!

It's finally happened! The world has been put out of it's misery and we finally know that the great Peter Capaldi has been cast as Matt Smiths successor in the TARDIS.  And of course Phil & Paul share their views on this casting news and also the manner in which it was done.  Zoe Ball?  Really??

And of course there is the usual reviewing nonsense with a look at the Target novelisation of the 2nd Doctor story, The Seeds of Death.  Though by their own admission, it's all inconsequential given the news this week!

While trapped in the grasp of a black hole, The Doctor is forced to come face-to-face with what just might be The Devil ("The Impossible Planet" / "The Satan Pit").Then, a child won a contest to get his monster on Doctor Who, so RTD thought it would be funny to make a man-gets-head-from-a-block-of-concrete joke in that episode ("Love & Monsters"). The day of reckoning is upon us; the twelfth Doctor revealed! It is with a heavy heart we discover that Gordon Ramsey will not play the coveted role. (We really hope you didn’t place any bets on that.) Still, we’re spinning this into a success, as we maintain our record of 80% wrong, a feat claimed by no other podcast! Though in this case we were closer to 100% wrong. The real man of the hour is a strapping young man named Peter Capaldi, to whom the sonic screwdriver has been passed.
