Welcome to the 16th Episode of the Oncoming Storm! Make sure you have your refreshments, because you're to see your hosts Ashley and Josh go head to head in this one. They're looking at Winter  for the Adept by Andrew Cartmel, featuring the 5th Doctor and Nyssa... or does it?And what are they fighting about? The deeper meanings and themes of the story? Do they disagree on if the story is any good? Nope, its just the meaning behind one throw away line. After finally working their way through that meaningless topic, there is discussion about gentleman ghosts, Nyssa's attitude, and sluttiness in Doctor Who. The Oncoming Storm... This time, we have plain old conquering aliens... and I take it back. Where's the unicorns?

My retro reviews continue with 2005's The End of The World and for me the moment Dr Who truly returned, we had aliens, lots of them! I still have a few minor niggles with this episode but on the whole it's held up well though it looks a little rough and ready in parts compared to the Moffat era.

We promised it would happen. Steven from Radio Free Skaro and I set our sights squarely on David Tennant and RTD’s farewell story and we are not kind.

This episode of the podcast is a catharsis. I needed to get this off my chest. I was a 10th Doctor lover, but I can no longer apologize for how his departure was handled. I’m so glad that I have Steven to support and re-inforce my feelings on “The End of Time Parts 1 & 2.” I can only hope our discussion helps some of you come to terms with these issues that plague many a Doctor Who fan.

We got a bit of the fit of the giggles in the DWP Campervan this week when we realised we had reached the lofty heights of Episode 150 of the Doctor Who Podcast.  So it seemed only apt that we talk about comedy and its relationship with our favourite program, Doctor Who.

And who better than to talk about comedy, but a comedian?  Long time contributor to the show Ashley Frieze finally takes up a pink vinyl seat in the Campervan alongside Trev, James, Tom and Leeson and talks about what has made us laugh in Doctor Who.  We also discuss comedians who have made the leap from standup to Doctor Who as well as comedy gold and misfires.

Ian and Michele also join the fun and discuss – The Horns of Nimon – proper story or panto?

Throw into the mix a few DWP skits and sketches, as well as a song from Ashley, and you have the 150th episode of the DWP!

Ah, the Cybermen. Their convoluted history was neatly sidestepped by Russell T. Davies when he introduced parallel-universe counterparts in Series 2 — but have those Cybermen been quietly ushered off the stage?

In this week’s episode we take an “evening newscast” look at things as we review the remarkable Torchwood: Children of Earth mini-series. We go almost step by step through the monumental television event that changed the series and mood of the Whonivers on the whole.
