Radio Free Skaro
- Description:
- Radio Free Skaro is possibly the most popular, most prolific and charmingly irreverent (but never irrelevant) Doctor Who podcast around. Since August 2006, hosts Warren (in Vancouver, BC) and Steven (in Edmonton, AB) have provided listeners with their brand of amusing Doctor Who praise and punishment. A year later, Chris (in Amherst, NS) was added to the team, and The Three Who Rule were born. Recommended by Doctor Who Magazine, Radio Free Skaro provides an entertaining and diverting listen for the diehard or casual Doctor Who fan. New episodes usually appear on Sundays, following a loose magazine format of the three hosts discussing the news and events of the past week in the worlds of Doctor Who, Torchwood, and the Sarah Jane Adventures. They have also recorded special commentary podcasts for classic series and new series episodes of Doctor Who along with interviews of some of the brightest of the Doctor Who luminaries. Radio Free Skaro is also the official podcast of Gallifrey One, the world's largest and longest-running annual Doctor Who convention.

Radio Free Skaro #983 - Spherical Hieroglyphics
Episode Duration: 0 days, 1 hours, 15 minutes and 42 secondsControversy stalks the BBC as the question is asked: did they censor Ncuti Gatwa’s comments on The Graham Norton Show about a possible third season of New New Doctor Who? And the answer is…likely not. What is much more probable is the Three Who Rule excoriating the current state of television while referring to a recent Deadline story on that same topic, but enough of these dour matters! There’s a new Gallifreyan translator that can turn your words into circles, an Adventures in Type and Space book on the way featuring the work of Sid Sutton, and part two of our Terry Nation Miniscope, where we delve into his work on “The Chase”, “Mission to the Unknown”, and “The Daleks’ Master Plan”! That’s in addition to intrigue and mumblesuch on the set of the Graham Norton Show as insight-sharer Ncuti Gatwa mentions movement on the Series 3 front, which was then mysteriously absent from the broadcast! There’s a contest to see the upcoming Xmas special “Joy to the World” in your local cinema, unless you live in Canada, in which case you can go to hell, and ITV is now premiering Coronation Street online previous to broadcast, a move sure to perturb elderly Corrie-heads! Radio Free Skaro #979 - Doctor Who and The Invasion, Starring Peter Ustinov
Episode Duration: 0 days, 0 hours, 58 minutes and 47 secondsOn this week’s show, Archie Panjabi is playing a new Doctor Who villain (probably not The Rani) next season, plus Russell T Davies and Disney+ teasing a TARDIS set pic (and potential Season 3 renewal?) on Instagram, but the key to this whole endeavour is the flights of fancy on our latest Fluid Links where we invent not one but two imaginary Doctor Who media properties! Radio Free Skaro #961 - Kiss Kiss Boom Boom
Episode Duration: 0 days, 1 hours, 10 minutes and 27 secondsSteven Moffat returns to the world of Doctor Who with Boom, a tension-filled episode with land mines, Anglican Marines, many a trope from his previous era, and more! The Three Who Rule are well-known Moffat-ites to be sure, but did this measure up to their thoughts and prayers? Plus the media blitz continues with Hollywood Reporter, Variety and Time Magazine (of all things) and a halfhearted stab at the increasingly irrelevant…stats! Ahhh-aahhhhh!

Radio Free Skaro #960 - Space Baby Lasagna
Episode Duration: 0 days, 1 hours, 55 minutes and 56 secondsDoctor Who returns! Two new episodes dropped this weekend as we enter both the wacky madcap hijinks of “Space Babies” and the outright lunacy of “The Devil’s Chord”! What did the Three Who Rule think of CG baby mouths, Jinkx Monsoon vamping all over the place, Beatles instrument accuracy and more? Listen to our multi-hour discourse but know this: the twist at the end is that song isn’t very good. Plus the media onslaught continues with Ncuti Gatwa on Canadian radio, RTD dropping secret controversies in Men’s Journal, Big Finish fun and golden sonic screwdriver tat, and more!
