This month the guys find themselves in a legitimate stone quarry right before detonation. They find a stone hand and a ring that begins to regrow when exposed to radiation. Marty wears some silly overalls and some bloake named Elrdrad keeps going on about him living. We also discuss the last in a series of main range Big Finish stories featuring the 5th Doctor, Peter Davison, Maureen O'Brien, and Peter Pervus. Marty continues his Big Finish series on the Tom Baker adventures as well. We round out the Big Finish parade this episode by talking about an older release that is the sequel to Hand of Fear, Eldrad Must Die, featuring Peter Davison, Janet Fielding, Sarah Sutton, and Mark Strickson. If there's one thing we both love, it's films and television shows on Blu-Ray. If there's one thing Steve is kind of ambivalent about, it's the Pertwee era. Put the two together, and we couldn't resist talking about the recent release of "Spearhead from Space" on Blu-Ray.

Disclaimer 1: This is not an intervention. Steve purchased the copy of "Spearhead from Space" on his own volition and with his own money. We planned to do something else for this episode, but it fell through, and so we thought it would be a perfect opportunity to talk about it.

Disclaimer 2: This description makes it appear as though Steve was dragged kicking and screaming into this project by Sean, and this episode will consist primarily of Steve grumbling and Sean squeeing. You might just be surprised.

Podcast team of Phil & Paul who both live in London, return to their ongoing series 2 retrospective with a look at The Impossible Planet which doesn't take place in London. This is a classic of Who so do the lads both feel that this is still a classic or does the fact this story isn't set in London hurt it somewhat? They also wander off topic and start discussing Disney's The Black Hole and both marvel at the wonderful London accents used by the actors.

And in the news this week, a Doctor Who 3D film event that disgustingly won't be shown in London and BARB will take into account online viewing figures, especially those in London.

This week's episode feels more reverent than most, which seems fitting, given the subject matter. Join Deb, Erika, Katrina, and Lynne as we have an almost NPR-style chat about what we enjoyed in this “love letter to Doctor Who.” We all enjoyed it to varying degrees, but as you might expect, some of us had wee quibbles with it. Generally very wee, though. Think of this ep as a mellow way to ease out of the giant (sometimes exhausting) squee-fest that these past few weeks have been.

Despite a somewhat sparse news list this week, the Three Who Rule managed to engage in ill-informed badinage for longer than was strictly necessary, covering exciting topics like a new and even more evil form of stats, and the differences between versions of Netflix. Thrilling! But lest you think that's all they had in store, keep listening...as the Miniscope returns to examine the collected works of pioneering classic Who director Paddy Russell, who helmed four stories from 1966-1977!
