Episode 41: Lyre Liar
Something WhoRelaxing in a Roman villa, Richard, Paul, Giles and Gav chew over the latest reviews for Something Who, both good and bad. After which it's the pairing you voted for on Twitter - 1st Doctor story The Romans and 10th Doctor outing The Fires of Pompeii, both with a 1st century Italian setting. For some reason we can't help mentioning Crackerjack, Indiana Jones and The Tomorrow People along the way. Please like or share our podcast with people who will enjoy it, so we can build our listener base high for happiness. You can rate us directly on Apple Podcasts or Podchaser.com Giles' book A History of the Universe in 21 Stars: (and 3 Imposters) can be found in all good bookshops and also here: https://www.amazon.co.uk/History-Universe-21-Stars-Imposters/dp/1787394654/ Gav's book Doctor Who: Dalek Combat Training Manual can be found here (other retailers are available) https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/1785945327/ Also find his excellent YouTube series Terry Nation Army here: https://youtube.com/user/Dalek6388 And head over to https://www.bigfinish.com/, where we all love Paul's stories, especially for the Doctor Who and Jago and Litefoot ranges. The opening music is Three Guitars Mood 2 and, yes, that is Richard playing the ukulele and kazoo on possibly the worst ever version of the Doctor Who theme tune at the end.

Episode 223: Nightmare in Silver OR Delights, Delicacies, and Death
PodcasticaA quarter million years in the future (not that we're explicitly told that), The Doctor, Clara, and her two wards (remember Clara's nanny phase?) land on a theme park planet that's certainly seen better days! Things quickly go south as Cybermites kickstart the long-dead Cybermen on display and a high-paced, high-stakes story ensues! We discuss Nightmare in Silver...did this 2013 episode improve with age? What did we think of these more Borg-like Cybermen? And has the psychic paper become as much of a story-telling crutch as the sonic sometimes is? Join us as we talk about all that and more!
