Episode #416 LIVE @ FAN TC CON
The 20mb Doctor Who PodcastAdam opens the show, with Debbie, Kirby, Mary (briefly) and stage host Ben Shoveller before handing over to Ben to interview all of our guests at the first ever comic convention to spin off from a long running podcast (us).
Fan TC Con grew in six months from The Lord of Time into a pop culture convention, Fantasy Trade and Comic Con.
Roy Spearman masterminded our live sound recording and the whole weekend was streamed to the recorder. Sadly most of Saturday was lost but all the guests appeared on Sunday and this is a random order collection of interviews with Colin Baker, Jennie Linden, Christopher Ryan, David Fynn, Simon Bucher-Jones, Andrew Smith, Velile Tshabalala, Josh Herdman, Martin Ballantyne, Rob Shearman and John Leeson.
We also have evidence that 20MB super fan Billy Kirkbright travelled from Australia to see us. The Staggering Stories team were in the audience as well, along with Alan T Butcher.
This is an extended show for obvious reasons.

Episode 100 - Survival
FeexbyIt's our hundredth episode and in celebration we have been briefly removed from our own time-streams to go old school and dawdle ineffectually around Survival from the olden days of 1989.
On at least one occasion John says Rhona Cameron instead of Rona Munro, and he could not be more mortified. Sorry.
Please read all of John Wyndham's work with the possible exception of the posthumously published Plan For Chaos.
Peter Strickland's four films Katalin Varga, Berberian Sound Studio, The Duke Of Burgundy and In Fabric are all exquisite, but they aren't for everyone.
Restraint Of Beasts by Magnus Mills is a morbidly brilliant book. Highly recommended.
This is the US Doctors thing we were nattering on about. You'll have seen it ages ago.
Lawrence would like to draw your attention to these Numberphile things:
Stay strong. You're all wonderful.

082: The Face of Evil
The Krynoid Podcast"Well now, it seems I have been here before."
You have: Planet of Evil. Well... only up to a point.
Sure the red-outlined empty creatures from the id are here again but this time they have Tom Baker's distinctive fizzog. As does the local equivalent of Mount Rushmore (although the DVD cover features someone else entirely, for some reason...).
And
cheapterrifying invisible monsters are causing a rumble in the jungle again, but this time they're accompanied by sultry space savage turned stowaway, a shape-throwing shaman whose hat fits like a glove, a chieftain who's just been Tango'd, and the campest IT support team ever seen. Throw in a computer with more voices than Rob Culshaw and you have one of the most bonkers bouillabaisses of the Baker era.Martin reveals he's a Horda hoarder and Jim displays a positively Luddite awareness of current technological thinking, but do they like The Face of Evil? Or do they turn their own, even more reviled countenances away in disgust?
Listen to find out...

Doctor Who - The High Council, Episode 54 - Survival Part 3
Doctor Who - The High CouncilAnd for the Final story of the original BBC series of Doctor Who, Josh is joined once again by Graeme, Lori and Petra. Lots of title sequence talk about cereal, asteroids and Doctor winks. Finally, a Cats reference as well. Join us as we barrel to the end, perhaps Josh really doesn't like Midge's face, and fully expect the actor Will Barton to come find him to complain. But somehow, someway, we can't get around Midge's need to dress more swanky when he is has sniffed the "cat-juice" on the dying planet. Will we cry at the end? Listen, and you will see.

The Podcast of Decision 2
The Doctor Who ShowFor this Dave-lite month (while he travels the world yet again), we ironically have a bumper podcast featuring The Podcast of Decision 2 - a pre-recorded segment with Dave, his podcasting partner on Spacefall: A Blakes 7 podcast and the Goodies Pirate Podcast, Richard, and the guys from the 42 to Doomsday podcast, Rob and Mark.
If you're unfamiliar with The Podcast of Decision, in November 2018, Rob and Dave from The Doctor Who Show sat down in a hotel room with Todd and Nathan from Flight Through Entirety (and Jodie into Terror), to record a breezy wander through all of Doctor Who via some games Dave devised. Dave called this recording... you guessed it... The Podcast of Decision.
The Podcast of Decision 2 on this episode is top and tailed with news, views, and quite a lot of chuckling from your regular host Rob (not to be confused with 42 to Doomsday's Rob), along with Richard - pulling a double shift this month and making his debut on the show as as a co-host. Confused? It will all make sense when you press play. We hope.
David Kitchen will return to his co-host mic in The Doctor Who Show S04 E09.
Hope you enjoy the episode! Contact us anytime, hello@theDWshow.net

But first, listen to Steven become cynical about streaming services, become more excited as the first Gallifrey One guest announcement looms, and enjoy the surfeit of Doctor Who audio releases soon to be playing in your ears (after you listen to us, hopefully).

265: I Feel a New Fan Fiction Coming On (Sleep No More)
Trust Your DoctorComing soon to Trust Your Doctor?
I purchased my Morpheus system from 3P Enterprises, and it was delivered in quick time. This is the only good thing I can say about the system. Within one month of purchase I’ve started to hear the Morpheus song, even when I’m in my personal sensory deprivation tank. Two months in and I’ve started to notice monsters in the corner of my eyes. My hands are starting to look and more like lobster claws. My significant other has turned into an orchid. 0/10 would not recommend for skipping sleep, although 10/10 replacement for hallucinogenics. It’s Sleep No More, written by Mark Gatiss and aired on November 14, 2015.
Show-notes:
12:12 The Raven by Edgar Allen Poe.
12:40 I can’t believe you’ve done this.
13:00 Jeremiah Denton’s pow video again.
16:48 If you’ve read through My Immortal multiple times like me and want something new in the bad fanfiction genre then check out Sonic High School. It’s actually funnier than My Immortal. There’s also an expanded universe of sequels written by DarkDoomFireMaster himself.
19:05 Check out Zenith, our Blake’s 7 podcast.
24:56 Vin Diesel played Adrian Caparzo in Saving Private Ryan.
30:04 It was John Henry.
42:07 It was As Above, So Below. I’ve never watched this but it might be good.

Radio Free Skaro #533 - The First Second of Eternity
Radio Free SkaroLet's just take it as read that there was no news this week of any consequence and move right to the main event. Director Rachel Talalay joins Steven and Warren this week for a commentary on "Heaven Sent", the penultimate episode of this series of Doctor Who and, let's be honest, one of the best episodes of the show ever to be produced, old or new. And next week she's back with Hell Bent with Steven and Chris! But why are you reading this? Listen and enjoy!
