Episode 249: Step Up Your Sarcasm Game
Trust Your DoctorThe fourth sequel to the Step Up series.
I was really hoping that this would be episode 250 but none of the numbering worked out for it to be so. I guess episode 250 is just awkwardly going to be the second episode of this season, which would probably bother some people but I’m pretty unconcerned. I’m bummer, to be sure, but nothing more than that. It’s Deep Breath, written by Steven Moffat and aired on August 23, 2014.

#114 - Aaronovitch's Scabbard
Doctor Who: The Metebelis 2There will be no podcast today! Heh, hardly! This week the Metebelis Two review Battlefield, the season opener in the last season of classic Who. Once again Ben Aaronovitch does as pastiche of the Pertwee era inspired by Camelot 3000. He introduces as mysterious scabbard that, unlike Chekhov's gun, never returns after the first part. This is the story where the Brig was supposed to die. Instead, director Michael Kerrigan nearly kills Sophie Aldred (and the production crew) instead! Somehow everyone manages to survive, including the Brig, who by doing so undoes much of the point of having Nick Courtney return to the role. Unless, of course, that was to flit about in a helicopter. So instead we discuss speaking Czechoslovakian to how scenes with padded out with extended sequences of maniacal laughter and quoting Tennyson. Excalibur! Opening and closing music is by Keff McCulloch from his score to Battlefield with a little help from Dead or Alive.

A Very Long Tone Meeting
Flight Through Entirety: A Doctor Who PodcastThis week, we’re orbiting around a black hole talking about flat-pack furniture and making lewd comments about security guards, while all around us the kitchen staff are gearing up for a massive attack on God himself. I suppose that’s why they call it The Impossible Planet.

You can find James Moran, the writer of The Fires of Pompeii on Twitter at @JamesMoran. He seems nice.
Tat Wood’s About Time 7 discusses all of the stories of Series 1 and 2 of Doctor Who, and has many negative things to say about this story. On the other hand, if you read it, you can safely skip about 30 episodes of Flight Through Entirety, including this one. So there’s that.

Tin Dog Podcast@TinDogPodcast is not at 2002! The Web of Time is stretched to breaking. History is leaking like a sieve. In the Citadel of Gallifrey, the Time Lords fear the end of everything that is, everything that was... everything that will be. The Doctor holds the Time Lords' only hope - but exactly what lengths will the Celestial Intervention Agency go to in their efforts to retrieve something important from within his TARDIS? What has caused Imperiatrix Romanadvoratrelundar to declare war on the rest of creation? And can an old nursery rhyme about a monster called Zagreus really be coming true? The answers can only be found outside the bounds of the universe itself, in a place that history forgot. In the wastegrounds of eternity. In the Neverland.

Tim's Take On: Episode 252(Doctor Who: Death in Heaven review)
Tim's Take On...Season 8 of Dr Who reaches it's conclusion with the emotional, game changing but never unentertaining Death in Heaven. Gallifrey is found but the Doctor is not happy about that, I wonder why.

Notes and links
You can find James Moran, the writer of The Fires of Pompeii on Twitter at @JamesMoran. He seems nice.
Tat Wood’s About Time 7 discusses all of the stories of Series 1 and 2 of Doctor Who, and has many negative things to say about this story. On the other hand, if you read it, you can safely skip about 30 episodes of Flight Through Entirety, including this one. So there’s that.

Nathan is on Twitter as @nathanbottomley, Todd is @toddbeilby, and Peter is strictly only available in meatspace. The Flight Through Entirety theme was arranged by Cameron Lam, and the strings performance was by Jane Aubourg. You can follow the podcast on Twitter at @FTEpodcast.
We’re also on Facebook, and you can check out our website at flightthroughentirety.com. Please consider rating or reviewing us on iTunes, or we’ll hire Gabriel Woolf to broadcast terrifying threats into your room of an evening when you’re just trying to get on with your work.
And more
You can find Jodie into Terror, our flashcast on Doctor Who’s most recent season, at jodieintoterror.com, at @JodieIntoTerror on Twitter, and on Apple Podcasts.
Our James Bond commentary podcast is called Bondfinger, and you can find that at bondfinger.com, at @bondfingercast on Twitter, and on Apple Podcasts. We’ve run out of James Bond films to comment on, but don’t worry, that hasn’t stopped us.
