The Doctor Who Podcast Episode #266 - sssshhhhh, spoilers!
The Doctor Who PodcastThe DWP turns its collective eye towards the news of the upcoming Series 8. There is talk of spoilers. There is talk of leaked scripts. There is talk of trailers. In fact, there is quite a lot of talk. Not unusual for a podcast mind, but… my word there is a lot of talk in […]

Episode 46 - Communication Breakdown
Doctor Who: Verity! This week we do lots of talking about villains who don't. Join Deb, Erika, Lynne, and Tansy as we discuss what makes silent villains so creepy and effective. We also discover just how many Moffat-baddies are non-talkers (or mostly non-talkers). And do stick around for a particularly interesting tangent about gender roles and power dynamics in communication. This Verity! ep gets positively analytical! Almost scholarly! Almost.
And of course, let us know who your favorite quiet killers are--or weigh in on the deeper debate about communication in general. Or both!
^E
Also covered [links on our site]:
- ALL the verities are over the moon about the release of Liz's Big Finish debut: Breaking Bubbles and Other Stories!
- Lynne dies of joy because Rachel Talalay and Peter Capaldi held Chicks Dig Time Lords on the set of Doctor Who!
- Erika
- wishes womeninpodcasting.org a happy 7th birthday!
- and loves DW fandom for not publicizing series 8 spoilers!
- Tansy
- welcomes The Ood Cast back to the world of active-podcasting!
- and delights in Doctor Who clothing for toddlers!
- Deb delves into the scholarly and math-heavy Blue Box White Paper on time-travel!

New Doctor Who Trailer Discussed PLUS Leakgate Update
Kasterborous PodkastChristian Cawley is a writer at Kasterborous Doctor Who News and Reviews - All the latest Doctor Who news and reviews with our weekly podKast, features and interviews, and a long-running forum.
Hey, dear reader, it’s podKast time, where we discuss the recent leakgate revelations and chew the fat over the awesome new Doctor Who Series 8 trailer that cast a Whovian shadow over the World Cup Final on Sunday evening.
Recently we’ve learned that the leaked Doctor Who scripts and first episode Deep Breath were possibly stored on an unsecured drive on an open web server – so who is to blame for this incident?
Meanwhile, we’re loving the new trailer and the various shots therein (particularly the shadows revolving around Peter Capaldi’s face!). There’s also news about the Doctor Who World Tour and a callback to the debunked rumours about Steven Moffat joining a future Star Wars production.
One last word: we recorded this week’s podKast on Bastille Day…
Kasterborous PodKast Series 4 Episode 23 Shownotes
- Deep Breath Leaked on Torrent sites
- New Doctor Who trailer ruins World Cup Final
- Doctor Who trailer screencaps on our Facebook page
- Could ITV Make Doctor Who And Sherlock?
- Doctor Who World Tour Hits Australia
- Steven Moffat attached to new Star Wars movie?
- Recommendations: Doctor Who: Legacy, The Reign of Terror, Batman ’66, Doctor Who: Born Again
The Kasterborous PodKast theme tune is arranged by Russell Hugo. He’s got the music!

What’s more, you can now listen and subscribe to the podKast via our Audioboo channel! Head to http://audioboo.fm/channel/doctorwhopodkast and click play to start listening. You can also comment and record your own boos in response to our discussions! Meanwhile you can use the player below to listen through Audioboo:
You haven't clicked play yet?! What are you waiting for? As well as our new Stitcher and Audioboo presence you can also use one of these amazingly convenient ways to download and enjoy this week's podKast.

Radio Free Skaro #430 - Limb's Whims
Radio Free SkaroIt was a week of great tumult in the world of Doctor Who, with the leaking of the first five scripts for Series 8 taking the internet by storm and sending Whovians into spasms of joy, guilt, fear and loathing. Though the scripts have presumably spread far and wide, Who-dom has heeded the call of #keepmespoilerfree and as of release of this episode, no major spoilage is happening in the more reputable corners of the internet.
While lest you think #8gate was the only thing happening in Who this week, rest assured there was movement in the realms of comics, Classic Who (with Retro TV bringing back our old friend on August 4th, starting with “An Unearthly Child”) and shoddily made, possibly foreign but certainly amusing “versions” of Doctor Who from Japan and….well, wherever the hell Beedeer is from.
All this, and an interview with 80’s music maestro Roger Limb in the Miniscope! Listen! WE COMMAND IT!
