MUTTER’S SPIRAL Podcast 134 – “The Eaters of Light"
Mutter's Spiral PodcastMUTTER'S SPIRAL Podcast this week talks all about "The Eaters of Light", episode 10 of Series 10 (or 36) of DOCTOR WHO. This episode marks the return of classic series writer Rona Munro (Writer of "Survival", the final 7th Doctor story, which was also the final story of the first run of the series) to the WHO family. It's a story of Picts and Romans and Crows and Locusts which we both quite enjoyed. We'll talk about what we liked as well as what could have been a bit better for us. We'll also talk about how things stand heading into the HUGE 2-part finale that starts next week. Plus, there's trivia and a bit of news!
Please have a listen!

Radio Free Skaro #587 - Death By Scotland
Radio Free SkaroGloom, doom, and light-eating tentacle dogs are the topic du jour for the Three Who Rule, as they viewed the Rona Munro penned, Charles Palmer helmed "The Eaters of Light" and formed cogent, well reasoned analyses of the third to last episode of Series 10, and didn't at all speculate wildly about Mondasian Cybermen, bearded former Masters, Missy's weird turn towards mercy and more. And speaking of Masters, Big Finish just announced that Derek Jacobi will return to his "Utopia" role as the Doctor's best enemy with a new series of "War Master" audios, which recent BF convert Warren is feverishly anticipating! Plus Moffatt and Chibnall interviews, side glances at Funk Pops, and...yes, stats. Now go eat a fried Mars Bar and stand around on a dark Scottish moor contemplating the futility of existence! Go on!

Audio Ep. 11: The Blood Tree
Trust Your DoctorNot all trees bleed, but the ones that do… they’re pretty creepy.
I’m pretty certain this is the newest audio drama that we’ve listened to, which is kind of interesting because it’s also about the oldest (and one of the best) TARDIS team on the books. Unless, I guess, if you count just The First Doctor and Susan. Which maybe you should, I don’t know. It’s Domain of the Voord, written by Andrew Smith and released September 2014. Domain of the Voord can be purchased for $11 (or your local equivalent) on Big Finish's website.
Show-notes:
6:14 Water World is a movie about the entire planet getting covered by water. It takes place in July 2017 so we only have a couple weeks left.
11:48 Fish Fight is a new movie about some teachers engaging in Star Wars prequel style duels but instead of lightsabers they use frozen fish.
16:01 HE MUST NOT BE FORGOTTEN. Also the Monk was an advisor to him according to some book. What the hell.
20:57 Santorini
27:38 HEY NOW YOU’RE AN ALL ST
29:34 He must really not be forgotten.
35:36 That audio is Beached if you want to listen to it.
36:47 Slipknot are a Norwegian folk band.
