"The best monsters work on a really visceral, almost childlike level. The Krynoids are like that. After a series of scrapes with mercury vapour, a robot and a food machine, things get even worse for the Doctor and Jamie.

They fetch up on the latest base-under-insane-leadership and meet some old enemies and a smart-arsed new friend.

Well, folks, The Power of Three. Is it a reference to the strength of the Doctor plus his companions? Is it a reference to the "cubed" nature of our villains tools? Is it just something that sounded good in Chibnall's head as he wrote a rather glossed over story full of exceptional amounts of handwavium? We're not really sure and, as such, that causes this story to land rather awkwardly. Though it does have some good moments (heartwarming ones as well as the introduction of Kate Stewart), we kind of feel a bit meh about this adventure.

            In the animated series Ulysses 31, the episode titled "The Lost Planet" (episode 2) features a planet where the entire population has been turned to stone by an evil witch. The planet, Numinor, is a satellite world that has strayed from its orbit around Zotra, Ulysses' home world. Ulysses, Telemachus, Nono, Numinor, and Yumi travel to the planet and discover the petrified inhabitants.
