Who's He? at The Movies | Halloween
As Halloween draws near, Phil decided to take a look at John Carpenter's 1978 slasher film, Halloween. This is the film that started all those horror movie tropes, the unstoppable monster and the final girl. But after all this time, is it still effective as a horror film or has time and the countless sequels and imitators lessened its impact?
You can find us on Twitter and Facebook and you can subscribe to our show on Apple Podcasts/iTunes, Spotify, Amazon Podcasts, Google Podcasts plus many other podcatchers and don't forget to subscribe to our Youtube Channel.

Electrified Pubic Merkins
Flight Through Entirety: A Doctor Who PodcastThis week, we’ve invited twenty million Zygons over for cocktails, and now we’re starting to feel self-conscious about cooking up all that salt-and-pepper squid. And so soon we’re involved in an international political thriller that takes us from Fake New Mexico all the way to Madeupistan. It’s The Zygon Invasion.
Notes and links
Sister Lamont from Terror of the Zygons was played by Lillias Walker, who died in August at the age of 93. I hope she knew how many small children she terrified. Bless her.
I thought I would probably regret researching this, but here’s a link to the Scottish Falsetto Sockpuppet Theatre’s YouTube playlist, and here’s another link to a video where they announce the casting of Peter Capaldi as the next Doctor Who. (Brendan’s impression of them is actually pretty good.)
El Sandifer’s interview with Peter Harness was broadcast on the Pex Lives podcast feed. You can find it here.
Friend-of-the-podcast Erik Stadnik has just finished the RTD1 era on his podcast Doctor Who: The Writers’ Room, in which he and Kyle discuss the various writers and eras throughout the show’s history. In their most recent episode, they start their long journey through the Steven Moffat era with a discussion of The Eleventh Hour. Highly recommended.

Nathan is on X as @nathanbottomley, Brendan is @brandybongos, Richard is @RichardLStone, and Todd is @toddbeilby. The Flight Through Entirety theme was arranged by Cameron Lam. You can follow the podcast on X at @FTEpodcast.
We’re also on Facebook, Mastodon, and Bluesky, and you can check out our website at flightthroughentirety.com. Please consider rating or reviewing us on Apple Podcasts, or we’ll record a really smug and irritating voicemail greeting before going off on holiday for a few weeks.
And more
Yesterday, we released the first episode of our new Space: 1999 commentary podcast, Startling Barbara Bain. Space: 1999 was, at times, a thoughtful and beautifully realised British science fiction show that dealt with questions about the very nature of the universe, and at other times was mostly about astronauts trying not to get eaten by unconvincing monsters with rubber tentacles. Our first episode, Breakaway, sees the moon hurled from its orbit by a nuclear explosion and heading off into space for some thrilling new adventures.
A couple of our podcasts are finished or on hiatus right now. Jodie into Terror was our flashcast on every episode of the Whittaker era, recorded just a couple of days after the broadcast of the episode. Bondfinger was our James Bond commentary podcast, which also covered some of our favourite spy-fi TV shows of the sixties and seventies.
Maximum Power is back! Our podcast about Blakes 7, co-produced with the Trap One podcast, makaes a start on Blakes 7 series C, with a discussion of the first episode, Aftermath.
And finally, there’s our Star Trek commentary podcast, Untitled Star Trek Project, featuring Nathan and friend-of-the-podcast Joe Ford. This week, we were astounded to find ourselves enjoying a late-era episode of Star Trek: Enterprise in which the Vulcans go completely rogue — Kir’Shara.

Who's He? Podcast 437 | And curse Sir Walter Raleigh
Who's He?In this episode of the Who's He? Podcast.....
The News
Phil and Paul catch up on the latest news including the Doctor Who 60th Anniversary concert and their thoughts on the new theme tune from Murray Gold. But of course, the big news is that all Doctor Who is finally coming to the BBC iPlayer. However, all is not what it seems as owing to a licensing dispute, An Unearthly Child will not be included! Phil and Paul discuss the furore over this.
Review - Voyage to the New World
It's Big Finish time! And this time the lads elected to listen to Voyage to the New World, starring Colin Baker as the Doctor and Christopher Benjamin and Trevor Baxter as Jago and Litefoot. This story sees the TARDIS materialize in the past, and the Doctor's companions, Professor Litefoot and Henry Gordon Jago, find themselves prisoners of the natives in the New World.
But there's something strange here - stranger than even the colonists, led by Englishman John White.
What are the ghostly children? And who is the Old Man of Croaton?
Phil and Paul remain somewhat confused by this audio play and that's not including whether this is part of the Jago & Litefoot range or the Sixth Doctor range?!? But how does the Jago & Litefoot double act hold up in this story set during the colonisation of America?
You can find us on Twitter and Facebook and you can subscribe to our show on Apple Podcasts/iTunes, Spotify, Amazon Podcasts, Google Podcasts plus many other podcatchers and don't forget to subscribe to our Youtube Channel.

Ross Aitken (@traitken) from Gallifrey's Most Wanted is our guest this week. The conversation is fast and furious and might not have much to do with Marco Polo, but it's typically intense and wide-ranging.
Please consider ordering in Outside In Regenerates from ATB Publishing. Jason will have an essay in the forthcoming volume.

#234 - Viewing Fumes
Doctor Who: The Metebelis 2We engage in a counterfactual discussion, speculating about what would have happened to Doctor Who if Russell T Davis had not been charged with bringing back the series to BBC1 in late 2003. We discuss what was happening with Who in 2003 — "The Scream of the Shalka" — and wonder what would have happened next. Would Who have returned to BBC1 later in the decade? Who would have been showrunner if not RTD? Or, would the programme have died a slow death as its fandom aged and slowly faded from memory? Opening music is "O'Carolan's Farewell" performed by Derek Bell and used in the opening of Death Comes to Time. Closing music is the Shoestring theme, composed by George Fenton. We recorded this episode on 8 October 2023.
